Ron, I don't think you should really care. Forget the dealer. I bought my M8 from a reputable dealer in Amterdam, but when I had a problem with the camera I just dealt with Leica in Solms. They arranged the pickup of the package at my home address and returned it to me with the same service. Leica paid, no need for a dealer intervention.
The M9 I bought with FFordes in the UK also does not have a dealer stamp in it. I think you don't need it, as long as the dealer in Germany you buy it from is a real Leica dealer.
