M8 35 summicron IV
Shiro: All three are brilliant!. This one is really well done. Not the Hawaii (I'm assuming Honolulu?) that tourists see. Composition, color, subject, detail, and light are great. The sliver of high-rise condos in the background and the water establishes the contrasting context for the homeless shelters. The girl with her back to us is a reminder of what's been done to her.

Went to a local deer park yesterday, the first time I've been there since I sold off my Olympus SLR gear in favour of m4/3, and subsequently the M8. Weather was great, which brought out armies of photogs with huge lenses.
With patience though, I had some success with my little CV50mm :)

These were all uncropped.
Regards
Mike
Mike: These are really cool! The deer must be relatively use to humans (duhh, of course they are!). The framing and processing is very elegant. The vignetting focuses the eye. They look like family portraits. :salute:

There some extraordinary images here. This thread sometimes seems so daunting, with the great images presented here.
Lloyd excellent series. Love the shots!
Steve, Mike, Matt, Panda, David and Vlad amazing images. I don't know where to start, but just a WOW. :)
Here some shots, as I just arrived in Bangkok for business and hopefully R&R at the end.
All the shots are with 50 Summilux Asph and M9
Charles: Really nice portraits. All smiling, except for the second one. In the first one, I, initially, thought it was hair on his head. I like that this photo shows a context. Composition and color really work for me.

Well, it's not New York, but in Holland you can reach the sky (and beyond) also...
My first effort with the M9 as to find out how the Zeiss 50 f/2 handles the combination of various contrasts (light, dark, lines, circles, etc.). Handheld, reasonable crop, distance abt. 100 mtrs.
Stairway to heaven

Warmest,
Ton
Ton: Very well done! Appropriate caption. The abstraction of this segment of a stair really gives it a sense of endless up and down. Excellent IQ and PP.

It was a varied photostroll around Seattle, rumbling around Seattle Center and the UW-Oregon State football game. All pics with the M9 and Noctilux f/.95
Finally, Noctilux at the football game:

LAST TWO FOR THE DAY, I promise...a bit on the surreal side...

Ashwin: Awesome. You took some great photos in your journey around town.

The two at the EMP are nicely composed and pp'd. Asymmetrical, but balanced. I think the eye does exactly what you wanted by those compositions.

Was that a wedding shoot? Her dress is a great accent to the gray-browns of the first image. Well seen, and she saw you, which adds to the first photo.

That one photo with the light outline of the boy running away in the fountain is exceptionally well done. Bravo!

Nobody made fun of your "old" camera at the game? You used it well to describe the event. Football games are clearly more then the players flying through the air (they limp off the field, too). Nice color under the night lights.

The second photo in the last set was explained by the earlier ones. The first photo is surreal! Why did she dress like one of Santa's elves and take her exercise trampoline up to the outlook on Queen Anne Hill? Nice framing.

:thumbup::thumbs::salute:

Cheers, Matt (BTW, I missed you, Mark said you were by earlier that day)

Two more from San Francisco. The first with the 24mm, and the second with the 18mm.

David: 1. Your partial high key (?) technique is really working! I think it's the detail you retain in the light areas. Excellent composition of elements and lines. 2. The stone and the two colors in the bronze door emphasize the richness of the detail. The slight angle create a bit of interesting tension in the otherwise 1/3 -2/3 composition. Photographing straight on would have been too static.:thumbup:

Matt, that is something special.
Mike
All great shots, Matt. But this last one is something else. Something special.
This last one is AMAZING, Matt! We really need to hit the streets together someday soon! Your images around Seattle are inspiring!
Steve/Mike/Lloyd/Ashwin: Gentlemen, thank you all! :D :D :D :D
Steve: No worries. My MB was only half way down the block. I could have run to it and locked the doors. :p Or, hit him with the Leica.
Ashwin: We should do it. I'm always inspired by your images (especially when you hire women to dress up like elves for a photo).

Cheers, Matt
