Re: S Is For Show Us Your S2 Shots

    Morning!

I had a nice little shoot yesterday morning for a friend, bloody cold here at -35, we only stayed out for 5 minutes but already ice was forming on her hair and jacket. Sun came up with a beautiful orange glow and lit her perfectly.

    Morning!

Sorry for hogging this thread! Some great dramatic light on the river yesterday morning, illuminating the ice forming in in the flow of the water, went for a slightly faster shutter speed to get some depth to the water and a heavier black and white conversion, not likely to be many peoples cup of tea but I love this and the print is beautiful.

Back in the "Pit" with my S(006) at the famous Half Moon in Putney, London. Virtually every famous UK band has played there with live music every night - Rolling Stones, The Who, John Mayall, Kate Bush and many more.

This one is from friday - Simon Townshend, younger brother of Pete from The Who. ST has been playing lead guitar for The Who on tour for over 10 years. However, he is also a very good songwriter in his own right. He is doing a number of intimate gigs in the US and Canada in between the rescheduled Who Hits 50 shows - http://www.simontownshend.com/simon-townshend-on-tour/

    Morning!

I spent Friday with the indigenous Sami people here in the North of Sweden at the Jokkmokk market, saw some great Reindeer racing.

Just traded in my 30 and 70 towards the 30-90 zoom. So far I like it, has a little more distortion than the 30 but so much easier to just grab the camera and go. Click image for larger version.

    Bob nice set.
    Quick question,
How do you go about making those really nice digital frames?

I hope to post some new stuff soon. I just traded in my S2 for the 006 I know not much of an upgrade yet I really like the 100% viewfinder and the better quality LCD on the back, I also picked up a used S 120 CS like new for half price of what a new one costs, so now my kit included the S30 S70 and the S120. Saving up for the S180 next

    Hi Steven

The frames are generated from a script ... very complex one that Joe Colson on this site developed ... it is very malleable and I love the quick lovely output ... text format and output is scaleable.

It is called Frameshop ... if you PM him I am sure that he will provide the link to a download.

I think that the S 006 is a huge step up from the S2 ... I had a S2-P and decided that I would pass on the S 007 ... would love live view but the CCD in the S 006 is stellar as are all of the lenses. Now if they
resolve the AF failures there is little to criticize ... and their commitment to resolving any AF problem at any point is a step in the right direction ... actually this is why I returned to the S. I do probably 90 MF
and 10 AF ... even then I tweak it biased on a magnified view of the capture.

BTW your neighbor picture is stellar ...

The S 006 is a daylight or tripod camera ... works for me ... usually reading and planning for the next morning by 900PM.

The S 100 may be my next lens ...

    Yes

The storage for files is a bit limited and I tend to cull anything that is a bit older and has not seen much in the way of new comments.

Always a difficult decision but I realize that GETDPI must conserve some bandwidth and I am appreciative of their hosting our vision.

    Thanks,

    Hi Bob,

Thank you very much. One of my best friends has started a new business venture and so I offered to shoot some pics for her and her two colleagues (one of whom is Isabel). I must say that Isabel has what it takes to be a model, but she also has brains with a degree from Cambridge

Re: S Is For Show Us Your S2 Shots

Here is a link to a series of shots for a model that wanted something a bit different. So I created a couple of editorial type pieces featuring her illustrating the subject of the articles, a poster for "The Magicians", and an ad for a young woman's apparel company I made up. I linked to them so the copy would be clear enough to read. I think some here will enjoy the fictional article "Dunn's Camera".

This truly was "Fun With The Leica S"

Re: S Is For Show Us Your S2 Shots

I've borrowed S systems before, but yesterday an 006 fell into my life. Today, a 70/2.5 and so... selfie!

(moderate crop - I had to be staring dead center into the lens in the mirror to be sure it would focus properly, so my face is centered in the full frame)

Now I get to experience first hand that it's 98% the photographers in this thread and 2% the S.

And a really menacing tulip. How can a tulip be menacing?

These are from an event held at the North Palm Beach Reigonal Airport held this weekend. It was a rather dark and drizzeley day with grey clouds everywhere. All were shot hand held with the 007 at ISO 800 and the 30-90 at f/11...great old airplanes but not such great conditions.

    Waco?

Love the pics ... I came very close to buying a Stearman years ago ... would have killed my retirement ... oh well.

Thanks for the "likes". As I look at this imge here it appears to be wildly over sharpened. In truth, I did very little to it beyond cropping and converting it to monochrome. I am beginning to think that posting images here is a seperate art unto itself that I have clearly not yet mastered.
