Wow, thanks Lloyd and Hans. Great compliments coming from the both of you. I'll get to go to sleep with a smile on my face. Many more pics to come!
Before I go, here are 4 more:
Okay, now it's sleep time! Can't wait to share more!
Thank you all for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoy a little humour
A few more, again M8/35 'cron:
Ashwin... Unreal. Seriously gorgeous stuff. What are you doing in post to get those so crisp? Or is that the M9 and the 35 lux II?
Mike... great stuff. LOVE the don't feed the birds shot! Those are my fav type of shots.
m8, cv 35
Hi Jason. Thanks so much for the kind words. I think the sharpness is due to a bit of processing and a lot of lens sharpness. I do use "Direct Positive" and "Old Polar" filters for some of the shots, which includes a clarity adjustment that may effectively sharpen the image a bit.
And the MacBook Air is sweet. It handles LR3 and PS CS5 very well, even doing a reasonable job with Nik Color/Silver Efex to boot. I have been pleasantly suprised. I have a MBA with 4 GB or RAM (11 inch model), by the way, and like the size/performance ratio, though I suspect the 13 inch version's screen may be better for editing (at the cost of increased size)
We had our wicked storm last night...30-40 mile per hour winds, ice not snow and lightening. I spent 4 1/2 hours this morning hacking and shoveling ice off the drive and sidewalks.
This may be part of my recovery tonight.
Sorry not Leica M but not too OT.
This however was M8 on a warmer day.
Ashwin, totally awesome series! Several just blow me away.
What cities did you visit?
Great stuff here
Ashwin, love the whole set.. this one stands out.
Thanks so much, Cindy!
Per request, a few more....I am super excited about what's coming off these SD cards!
It is not possible to comment on all those wonderful photos in this thread since my latest visit, so thank you all for sharing.
Ashwin - these are superb - are these done exclsively in Lightroom 3? I am looking for a raw processor for my new (to me ) M8 and really like how you are treating your images. Also intersted in the fact that these are done on a MAC laptop? Thanks and please keep posting!
Every photo you've posted from your trip has been a winner. I felt I should choose one to comment on specifically. This one captures some special magic, due to the haze and toning, I think.
I notice what seems like haze in many of the photos, which seems to put them in another dimension. What accounts for that? Did you perceive it with your eyes, as well?
Mike... excellent street series! I really like #3
Jason, love the portrait of the whippet
Henry, very nice shot! Great lighting.
Ashwin, outstanding series!!! The rendering and colours, and more importantly the feel is superb. You can almost taste the air in the shots.
We had about 20" of snow here in the last day so Chicago's been shut down. But not me
Cars were abandoned along Lake Shore Drive... it was surreal. Here's a few...
Okay, a few more from me....SD card one has been sorted through. Just 4 more to go ....
A few from the Taj and Jantar Mantar Observatory:
