21mm f/3.4 Super Angulon

Hi All,

I'm borrowing a 21mm SA and have noticed a strange behavior: When focusing close, at around .65m the rangefinder decouples and focusing is no longer possible on both my M9 and M6 TTL unless I focus it for a farther distance, say .7m or greater. Is this because the average M only expects to focus down to about 1M? I notice this lens can get as close as .4m (16")

Many thanks

The rangefinder does indeed decouple once it reaches 0.7 meters. Happens with my Voight. 12 mm which focusses closer. You'll have to guess, measure or use lots of DOF!

I figured, though it's a kind of a sinking feeling when all of a sudden something mechanical as focusing just kind of comes loose. Eeek. RFs are not for the faint of heart.
