Lens cleaning question: Metal not glass

Hi all
I have 2 old lenses and I want to get the outside looking a bit nicer, not to the point where it looks like stainless steel, but not so tarnished etc.

Any tips/hints ideas?

Lens looks gorgeous.

I do the same thing...soft soft bristle toothbrush with a very small amount of isopropol alcohol....do not scrub just agitate it a bit.

Wipe it down with lint free cloth ....

Look at a few of the photos of Larry Burrows Vietnam equipment....it can image in spite of a bit of use. Question becomes capture or equipment...what is the focus?
