Ashwin Wrote--->>>"Thanks to you all for the kind words. I had a smashing time last night hanging out with my friends, photo buddies, and the Glazers camera gang. All in all, about 100 people came through and enjoyed the show. Big thanks to my parents for coming from Cleveland to see it and be part of it. Big thanks as well to Glazers and Brad Weeks of Leica for helping to sponsor the event and trusting Al Tanabe and I to throw a good opening. I equipped my parents with a D-Lux 4, and myself with the M9 and 50 lux asph...here are a few takes from the show">>>

Congradulations Ashwin...most definitely deserved! It's been a pleasure being able to view so many of your wonderful images both here on GEtdpi and elsewhere. I'm always so impressed with the diversity of subjects you have expertly photographed, often with what appears to be a spontanious capture of "the moment", thereby bringing life to the image. Nice going and I'm sure like many other here, wish we were in close proximity to have attended. Looks like everyone had a great time...inclduing yourself and parents

Ryan, nice to see you're enjoying the 90mm f4 macro. It's almost as though the flower in your first images is floating "in space". It's certainly different, optically speaking, than the 90mm f2.8, each having strengths in certain areas Looing forward to seeing more from this lens.

Ryan: I looked at this lens today at the camera store. Based on your shooting, I'm going to have another look at it. These are terrific. The two above are my favorites. Very cool, unusual, composition in the first and the second is just plain stunning with the detail in the wings and the bokeh.

Wallingford Kid's Parade, up the street from my house. When i was in first grade, or so, my bother, my sister, and i won first prize, in some category, in this parade. My mother had us dressed as King Neptune's Court. My Schwinn cruiser was covered in crepe paper and my older sister was towing my little brother in a gussied up wagon.

Thanks Dave, Steve, Lloyd, Matt & Mohammad

Steve - great shot of 'No Photos Please' Isn't that just begging for one?

Matt, Mohammed - definitely take a look at the lens. I am really shocked at how great it is considering you hear so little of it. I don't have the macro adapter but am now on the lookout. The .7MFD at 90mm without the adapter actually gets you very close. The detail at 100% is stunning. And the bokeh is just to die for. 10 blades vs the 8 on the Elmarit-M really makes a big difference

Matt - Love the Nocti shots. I see you are definitely getting great use out of it. The CA are very well controlled considering its a .95 lens

Dusted my lenses. Sensor cleaned. Film loaded. Got to start somewhere.

No better place than with my friend's usual superb images and conversions.

    Best.

Great image! I've also tried the panning with an M8 and its not that easy but after getting a few blurred shots I managed to get some keepers.

Love it! Good job! I like the look of reflections a lot, its just finding them that can be tricky/not at the top of your mind. Then again, in a city like NYC, with so much glass, it must be a little easier.

Here's some of the better panning shots that I got in Montreal a few weeks ago.

Most didn't come out that great as it was hard to actually track that fast. Those cars are fast!
