Nice Matt! We went to Mt. St. Helens last weekend - looks like you got slightly better weather up at Rainier. Of course you were also considerably closer than we were able to get

Some B&W shots not taken with a Leica, but revealing an unboxing of one of the first M Monochrom's used by one of our esteemed forum members and a regular poster/contributor here...you probably know the guy (Hint...it isn't me LOL, though dangit, I wish that it were)

Lloyd/David: Thanks! I invited Ash to produce the camera porn. He's got lots of experience with that.

Here's a few more quickies. Ash took the last one (after, I took the 8x ND filter off the lens!).

    M-Monochrom; 50mm f/1.4; 1/30s; ISO 320

    M-Monochrom; 50mm f/1.4; 1/90s; 8x ND; ISO 10,000

Good stuff, Matt. Impressive high ISO performance for sure. Looking forward to seeing what you get as you put it through the paces.

BTW, what color space do you use on that thing?

So, after playing around with the m-mount lenses on the Fuji, I picked up my M8 with my 50 Cron (1969). Love that lens, and the combo felt so right in my hands.

Ok, while I'm at it. Noctilux f1,0 on the X-Pro1. Both at minimum focal distance, which seems to be slightly increased with this camera.

That's an amazing image, Michael. Love it!

I've used the new (although not the new $7K version just announced) 50 Cron, and it's a great lens. It has a built in, extendable, hood, which is nice. Takes 46mm filters (if memory serves), and renders beautifully. However, I've had this 50 Cron for years, and there is something special about it. It's rock solid, tack sharp, and the bokeh is beautiful. Plus, a good used one can be had for a reasonable price. I saw one about a year ago for $500. My version takes 39mm filters, and it is a twist, rather than tabbed, focus ring. I actually prefer tabbed, but I love this lens so much I've never been willing to replace it.

There is the exact same setup on the other side of the hallway, so I sat on the bench, lifted my legs, and tried to shoot at an angle so my reflection is hidden by the painting. It's elementary, my dear Watson!

Having spent a couple of hours with the 6x9 camera (a view from that film similar to this one is in the analog forum) I noticed the light change and quickly snapped this with M9 and Elmarit 24mm. Around five minutes to posting instead of three hours!
