Yes, you did it's just a poor choice of font color. It should read tanaporn clinic, which is the name of the owner. Or maybe it is on purpose, who knows

Wolf, outstanding. Maybe next time you can get in the water with the guys and gals and get some closer action shots? I cannot imagine how cold the water is being from South Florida, but I can guess. Please show more of the shots.

    re: Fun w/Digital M Images

I haven't shot with the Digital M lately... the bag I bring to work is rather small and it's much easier to carry my Ricoh GRD3, so I hope you don't mind... :P

After a rather unfortunate event regarding one of my photos, I considered giving up with photography, at least for a short while. One photo I posted on my flickr caused some people who are very important to me a lot of trouble. I had some people tell me to take down my photos and scold me for not thinking before posting. I had people tell me that I was taking advantage of others. I thought to myself, "I don't want my photos to be used against anyone or to hurt anyone."

I take photos because I want to share happy moments in my life, so people can enjoy what I enjoy.

After a good talk with GetDPI's very own Robert Wilson, and some encouragement from a few friends... I had a moment of clarity during which I decided that I shouldn't stop taking photos. I don't take them with a bad intention, I don't take them to "take advantage" of people. I take them so I can share good memories and bright smiles... like this one!

Back on the trail again with the M-E & 21 1.8 Ultron. Another quickie warm-up and thaw ahead of an advancing arctic cold front brought out a few walkers and joggers. Today we had 50F and tomorrow only single digits after the front slides past.

I've always loved the Bruce Davidson pictures he took walking around Yosemite during prime summer camp-out season. We're simpler folk here in Israel, but we can't resist gathering whole families outdoors on the first nice weekend of the springtime (yes, in mid-January!), lighting fires and smoking up the woods with grilled meat. It's called "mangal."

This area is in the middle of agricultural fields, dry for years at a time, but a week of rain and snow left a big lake, an irresistable draw. So appealing that the water authority rolled out the barbed wire to keep us all back to a safe distance:

and they do get carried away with that barbed wire:

    all pictures M9, 28 Summicron-Asph at f/5.6.

Patrick hope the experience wasn't traumatizing it is all part of life's experience and gaining wisdom. It was obvious with the gaping holes left on the preceding pages which image was the culprit. Ask the admin chap to remove the post altogether.

Viewing deck at this waterfall (a diving platform in summer) is a sheet of ice. I'm sure that the adventurous types (like the hardcore surfers in Wolf's post above) would just walk around the barricade and dive in.

These images are in honor of today's Presidential Inauguration, taken 4 years ago to the day showing some behind the scenes prepartion and set-up for this historic event. Temporary dignatary seating on both sides of the podium (hidden by statue) as well as the special U.S. flags hung specifically for the occasion, can be seen.

The two images are sort of a companion set to the lovely early morning image Aboud shot during morning's sunrise of the Capital off in the distance with these cerimonial flags, as posted in the Nikon forum.

Images taken with the Leica M8

Thanks very much Jason. Just some background info:

I wish I could post the real behind the scene images of the event (taken over a number of days) and which I was on my way to at the moment I fired off these two quick "snaps" while running over to my shooting destination (I'm always running late...LOL!). Even this past Dec when I captured a few images of the Christmas Tree in front of the Nation's Capital at dusk this past Dec , the same scaffolding used the inaugural festivities had already gone up and wasn't an attractive addition to the building, unfortunately. I'll post that picture in the medium format forum in a couple of weeks.

Love the low contrast look of the image and obviously this lens suits this fine. The tone of the pic reminds me of an image one might find tucked away in a box from years past. Lovely wife and pair of dogs. I sometimes confuse Whippets with Greyhounds. Recently while biking I met a woman who was walking her pair of Whippets. Wish I had stopped long enough to take a shot.

Interestingly, on dpreview, a long time poster chronicled in images the last few months of his Greyhound dog, who lived a long and happy life. Our pets really becomes members of our family and even sometimes causal shots eventually become the memories we remember them by.

    re: Fun w/Digital M Images

I've been in a bit of a rut lately. Not sure why, but just haven't really felt inspired. The weather this past weekend around Los Angeles was gorgeous so I forced myself to take my camera with me. Here are a few from my time. Hopefully I'll find my inspiration soon enough.

    Sleeping on the Boardwalk

    Visiting Venice

Great set, Matt. Love that first one. (The weather has been spectacular, hasn't it?)

Wolfgang, river surfing seems like it'd be loads of fun... but don't the kids get cold?!

Jason, the portrait of your wife and dogs (and the baby of course!) is beautiful :P The low contrast BW really works, those dogs are some of the coolest/prettiest I've seen, and she's got such a wonderful smile!

David, comics are probably the only type of book I'll ever read... I can't stand anything without a visual. There's such a wonderful creative world inside those comics too! Hope your son enjoyed the reading!

OK. I love the shot too, but that's how living should be done! Cheers!
    Jason,

Many thanks. I was on a flying visit to Brussels for a cancer committee meeting. So never one to stint, I headed for one of my favourite Brussels restaurants (La Maree) in Sainte Catherine for my usual dinner there. Large pan fried skate wing matched perfectly with Alsace Pinot Gris. How the Italians can make watery Pinot Grigio with the same grape is beyond me (no offence intended, as I know some producers do make great Italian Pinot Grigio). Anyway it’s good how convivial that makes one’s picture taking.

    Best wishes,

    Charlie
