Still processing my daughter's prom photos, but these two jumped out at me.

No cloud (it is California) and no time due to the schedules, did the best I could. Leica M9 with ZM 85/2.

    Sunday at the Masters.

For the last 25 years or so, Anne and I have made Masters Sunday a special day (we are avid golfers, very involved with our club).
After years of dealing with our growing kids and order-in pizzas for round 4, we are back to being just the two of us.
Tonight it was a simple plate of smoked salmon with a nice glass of wine as we enjoyed this great tournament.
Great play-off finish and congrats Aussies!

Hey All, like Patrick, Ive been busy with real life (tm) also , but I am still the defacto photographer for kids birthday parties, lol

One of my close friends had a birthday party at a Pottery studio for her 10 year old daughter , it was alot of fun and quite crowded, we dropped off the kids, but I returned 15 minutes prior to the end and asked if I could flit around and take some shots. I even checked with all the kids and they said sure , One of them even remarked about my " cool old camera"

Here is my Daughter still giddy after all the pottery work

A friend of hers taken with natural light and given a *soft* processing touch

and the group shot of the other kids acting 10 years old

Nice to see people getting out and about now that winter has passed We took a metro ride today into Chinatown to have dimsum.

I had an idea to take a slower shutter shot out the window while the train was moving, but either the shutter is too slow or the train was too fast... Completely not what I had in mind, but I still like it:

It was cloudy, but here's a few vibrant color shots:

The real excitement started late (last 4 holes in regulation play), but from there on in it was awesome!
We look forward to it each year. We camp out in the TV room to watch the final round and have a blast. Even when the kids were little, they knew there would be no formal Sunday dinner. Grab something quick and stick with the game.
    Great fun!

Good work Woody! Your pictures are probably the nicest in color from the M240 I've seen yet. What kind of profile (or color correction) have you used on the latest?
It seems to me the downsize getdpi use somewhat degrade images making them unsharp. This is quite apparent (to me at least) on those trees pics.
If you open the links in another windows they are much better.

I love the look but it appears to be slightly yellow biased in spite of the golden light...as the whites in the clouds appear a bit low in blue...a slight curve with increased blue of 4 or 5 points cleans these whites without affecting the overall warmth or tone of the rest of the picture.

This yellow is reminiscent of the early H3D and CFV profiles in any light.

However, this is a personal preference and I admit that the look is captivating as it stands and is truly Kodachrome like.

Bob, I would tend to agree. From virtually all the M240 files I've looked at (both on the web and full rez files I've been sent), the M240 seems to presently have a strong bias towards "warmth". At times this certainly can be inviting, but at other times, especially with certain types of skin tones, it certainly in my opinion needs an adjustment in post processing. No doubt as time goes by, both firmware updates and and available camera profiles, should address most of this.

M9 with Zeiss 50 Planar and 35 Summilux.

Grand Canyon - 1 sunrise and 3 sunset pictures. This was my first visit to this part of the country. I have seen my fair share of the North American landscape, but this was jaw-dropping to see in person. I was visiting there with my two German friends who were equally stunned.

The logistics inside the Grand Canyon Village are very impressive, with free shuttle buses running from 4:30AM till one hour after sunset, restrooms, water stations, etc. A bargain for $25 per car entrance fee, valid for a week. Truly a national treasure that I would gladly have my tax dollars spent on.

During the day, I met a gentleman who said he has stopped taking pictures of the Canyon as it is futile to capture its beauty and scale in photos. I agree. These pictures below don't do justice, but I will attempt anyway!

For the shot below, we reached this point at 4:30AM (!) to stake it out. Needless to say it was darker than dark if you are used to the usual "city darkness" and flashlights came in handy. And cold. Went back to the car to warm up until 5:15am or so and came back again. The early morning glow brought the mysterious shapes to life.

Next three: Hopi Point, a popular spot for sunset. The fading light lit up the unforgiving terrain with strange hues and I found it rewarding to step away from the crowds and try different vantage points. One really needs a 200mm lens here for better perspective compression.

Jaree, I was fortunate enough to made the trek down into the canyons almost 10 years ago. There is much more beauty to be seen below. Highly recommended to anyone who can find the time and physical strength. My only regret is that I wasn't into photography back then to take some nice photos.

Thank you all very much for the ' likes', much appreciated.

Living in the desert, we appreciate things that might be very common elsewhere.
The trees, seas and the ocean, the 4 seasons, and for my wife and me specially the snow capped peaks of the mountain ranges.

The mountains do really beckon the two of us...

While I appreciate that longing, I am left to wonder who is going to show us the desert and the people living there!

Hope you are recovering well, Rayyan!

Many thanks to you guys for the ' likes '.

Vivek, you raise a valid point.

How about a traveler from abroad?. In lieu of that, you guys are always welcome

Every medical person tells me that one feels much better after CABG. I have yet to find that exhilaration they speak of. But it is early days, and they seem to be comfortable with the progress I am making. Thanks for asking.

Sending along a good thought and a prayer that you have a successful recovery from the surgery and soon have that exhilaration feeling!
