From the first shot it looks like your girls were running to escape the crowds. Love the expression on your older daughter's face in the last one. Clearly, crowds don't make her happy.

Thanks guys. Those shots were from North Carolina. I especially like HDR Efex for single shot HDR.

Did you apply any colour adjustment on it? The colour looks pleasing and natural.

Just a slight increase in Vibrance and Clarity within LR, nothing else.

Since its customary to post an image of or with something new, I thought I'd share this with you:

Of no artistic merit whatsoever, but it was taken with my new 50 'lux asph which I found online at a dealer last night and picked up this morning

The relevance of the image? This is all that will be left of me when she finds out

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Too funny, Mike! I was thinking "Curly, Moe and Larry", but it does look like an ad for The Hair Club for Men"! (BTW, both of my vehicles combined cost less that the hardware arrayed in that image... considerably less!)

Steve: Thanks! He was enjoying himself.
Joe: Thank you, sir! A plethora of good shooters at that workshop.
Carlos: Nice work with that combination. I really like the IQ of the 2nd one.
Steve: Nice composition, IQ, and variety of subjects. The older women with the hat is very Boston Brahmin! "All business..." - that's concentration and a nice photo.
Rayyan: I did eat more "formal" meals then i usually do.
Ed: Cool range of photos. I like your take on that sculpture in the first photo. This is one of the few photos I've seen of it that works for me.
    Mike: Excellent balance and lines.
Robert: Do your kids have agency representation? Fun shots. Maybe your daughter (2nd photo) is going to get one.
Ed: That looks like a "posed" shot?
    Mike: That was pretty unkind!!
Ed: That 2nd one's my favorite. an excellent capture.
    Ed: You laugh now!
Mike: Thanks! It helps to have an amiable and self-motivated subject.
Steve: Thanks! You recognized the guy in the first shot?
Steve: She dyed her hair to match her sunglasses. Of course she wanted to be photographed.
Mike: Congratulations! That's an awesome lens. My shoes are in my house; but, my wife hasn't let me in for the last two weeks (something to do with the nocti?). Enjoy.
    Lloyd: Thank you!
Lloyd: "Curly, Moe, and Larry"? I shaved my head today.
Seascape: Prettty cool! It's a hatch on what?
    Ron: Thanks!

    Cheers, Matt.

To all Renegades of the Rangefinder, and Da Seattle Croo, especially: I've barely had had time to look at the photos recently, no less comment individually. Looks like the Steve Huff shindig went well, and I'm really enjoying the photos. With all those Nocts in one place, I'm surprised a critical mass of unobtainium wasn't created, generating a black hole which would suck all sunlight from Washington State. (Oh, wait, that was our July)

Anyway, hello to all, and just because you don't hear from me doesn't mean I'm not watching!

    P.S. Nice hat, Ashwin!

That's a great series Matt. My favourite has to be the bike, but the others demonstrate lovely isolation which I really like as well.

Yes, takes me a while to catch a joke.
Took me 2 days to figure out your upside down nuclear power plant joke.
Ed: Thanks! I don't even remember the jokes?

With all those Nocts in one place, I'm surprised a critical mass of unobtainium wasn't created, generating a black hole which would suck all sunlight from Washington State. (Oh, wait, that was our July)

    P.S. Nice hat, Ashwin!
Peter: 1/3 of the unobtainium was brought in from Arizona which explains the absence of the black hole (except for July, of course!).

Mike: +1 to the "guy" shot. Also like the pp and quiet moment in the first and the OOF/IF in the second.

    A somber day.

This is all the smile Mimi could muster. Her dear friend, Tercia, lost her son, Raphael, to an IED in Afghanistan two weeks ago today. Born in Brazil, Rafi and his family came to the US ten years ago. Always smiling, always the first to lend a hand, he would have been 22 years old last Saturday.

With full military honors, he was laid to rest in his adopted country this morning.

Accompanied by Rafi's father, and her sons, Sergio (l) and Aundrey (r), Tercia offers a brave smile. She's actually doing amazingly well. She and Mimi have spend a lot of time together over the past two weeks, and she confided to Mimi that she is at peace with Rafi's passing. She is concerned about Aundrey, however, who is also in the Army and scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan sometime this fall. Sergio is currently living in Brazil, where his wife is pregnant with their third child. He told us this morning that he plans to return to the US, and will enter the military when he does.

    M8, 1 and 3 with the 90/2.8 Elmarit. No. 2 with the 28 Cron.

Lloyd, so sorry for the lost of Mimi's friend's son. My thoughts are with you guys, and I hope things are okay. 22 is far too young....
