Now to dig up them snaps from Amsterdam!
Aside from all lovely the tourist snaps, I would love to see some pictures from your neck of the world. Yesterday, I saw a clip on BBC with all the youngsters doing crazy stunts with cars (and several taking snaps with their DSLRs) in S.Arabia. Looks like a great subject to me.

Thanks, Edward. I've never been one to care a lot abut a little barrel distortion, but this lens is spoiling me. It is nice for straight lines to remain so perfectly straight!

Vivek, I shall try and dig up some; but no promises.

BTW, S. Arabia refers to some place other than where I reside. My home is in Saudi Arabia.

Thanks a bunch folks for the ' likes '. Very much appreciated.

For the Opera lovers amongst us. Ayesha bought the ticket. I excused myself.

I still have not figured out if an opera is a musical or what. In any case, I have a hard time figuring out what friends are saying in a foreign language...

But do you all follow what the opera singer/s ( ? ) actually say? It remains an art form that has eluded me thus far; and it is too late now anyway..

I did ask Ayesha what the performance was all about. ' It was in Italian ' she said.

Resorting to gimmicks for the next few posts. Shooting my MM in infrared. R72 filter on 35mm Lux FLE. IR focus shift for this lens is near nill but shooting at f4 to give myself a little cushion on focus. 1/60 or 90 to handhold. This works out to about ISO 5000 in daylight. Here we go (on the golf course today):

More. In the end these are a little mundane - most extreme IR images are indistinguishable from each other.

Same setup on less obvious subjects. In a few of these I've used fill flash. These seem much more interesting to me.

I've been having fun with the 80-200 f2 on the M - a good match for nature. Here are a few examples

    Early Morning Rape

    Dandelion Clock

    Elegance

    The spider and the mosquito

    Spring Posy

Keeping Caspar In (or is that out?)

    Hi Ricardo
They are Tulous in Fujian Province in China
Basically they are walled villages - they've been built since the 12th century - but read the Wikipedia article.

Here are a couple of shots on the inside
Both taken with a Leica M and the WATE

Thanks, David and Mikal! As for the wedding, I am definitely going to be in the market for a Leica photographer...that may be a bit challenging, but my fingers will be crossed!!!

    re: Fun w/Digital M Images

For the past couple of days I've been pushing the MM to extremes to see where the limits are (you've seen the IRs). I tried shooting landscape at ISO 10,000, primarily with my 18mm super elmar and an orange filter, which just works (barely) daylight at f16 and 1/4000. I've been stitching multiple images and downsizing by 4x - effectively binning to reduce noise and to move resolution out of the diffraction range. The results have been interesting, although a little bit hit or miss - it will take a bit more work to decide whether this is worth continuing. An example:
