This is a wonderful set. These two really stand out. I can see the connection between the photographer and subjects!

good stuff here, Frits, I see you got the Lux, awesome dude.

Ashwin, like Cindy, I really like those two shots, thumbs up. Kids are so great. You can almost see the little boy saying, ewwwe, I touched a girl. Arms around each other, but keeping a safe distance. Fantastic.

Great set, Ashwin. I love the shots Cindy singled out as well.

Thanks for the thought. Looks like you had a good time anyway. Looking forward to next time.

I finally found an excellent copy of the very elusive Zeiss 85 Sonnar. Below are a few test shots at infinity, that also show the wide open purple fringing and the excellent sharpness. First f/2 then f/4:

    haha, thanks ced

Edward, congrats on the Sonnar. I know that has been a target for nearly 2 years, and it's great to see it in your hands. I very much enjoyed my time with it, and many times wish that I still had it....I can't wait to see how you grow with it...watch out for CA and fringing in high contrast situations...otherwise, it's awesome, brilliant, superlative, and a legend...

Two with the f/1 Noct at ISO 1000

These are pretty much straight off the camera, using LR's Adobe Standard profile. The camera was white balanced under the lamp. Because of the mixed tungsten and failing daylight coming in the window, in LightRoom I used a grad to warm the back wall of the first shot.

Quite Agree....Gary, truly a lovely image of your dad's car!

Jono, with her new collar with name and phone number, does that mean she's old enough to troll the neighborhood for a date? With her cute looks, something tells me she'll have no trouble finding one...LOL!

Beggars could not be choosers so I decided to take the offer of a refurbished black one that came into the Leica Store, while I was lamenting about sending mine off for many weeks just before a few months of heavy travel. My first M is in Solms so this way I will still have an M to use.

A knowledgeable traditionalist. He liked that I was shooting film with my M. I said it was digital and gave him a dollar. Couldn't staple and shoot at the same time, so the young lady used the staple gun. I should have given him $5.

The last oredock in Ashland, WI is being torn down. It's sad to see. Driving into town from either the east or the west, you would see it jutting into Chequamegon Bay and you knew you were home. Ashland's skyline will not be recognizable once it's completely gone.

Re: Fun with the New Leica M

There's a Jane Alexander installation on display in the cathedral so her part animal part person figures show up in various odd spots.
