I don't know how many times I've driven by that entrance to the IRS (I assume a side door) but never noticed the stoplight. Perfect placement and especially with the timing of waiting till the light turned "red" with the little red hand to seemingly indicate "stop, do not proceed to enter this door". Nicely done.

A few more pictures from the Bosnia trip, at the beginning of August:

    (1) Mt. Maglic, the highest peak of Bosnia and Hercegovina (2386 metres above sea level)

    (2) Near Prijevor, on the way to Trnovacko lake

    (3) Trnovacko lake (already in Montenegro, you cross the border on foot while hiking there, there is no border check)

    (4) On the way back to Prijevor from Trnovacko lake

    (5) Rafting on the Tara river, between Montenegro and Bosnia (Tara has the second deepest canyon in the World, after the Grand Canyon)

    (6) Walking in the Zelengora range, eastern Bosnia

    (7) Another one from the Zelengora

    (8) Borilovacko lake, Zelengora range

    (9) On the way down from Zelengora mountains, our expedition has stopped to visit the "Sand Pyramids" natural feature

    (10) My dog has had enough walking and driving for the day and is enjoying his well deserved rest in the camp

Enjoy the rest of the Summer!

(Camera was M9, lenses Elmarit 24 and Summilux 35 FLE)

baudolino thanks for showing that very nice series from your part of the world, seems very inviting to scamper around there in what seems a very beautiful region!

This is actually a place that is still little visited today - most people even here in Europe have Bosnia associated with the war in the 1990s, the still present land mines etc. As a result, you almost feel you have the place for yourself and the people are very inviting and welcoming to visitors. There is no danger in the places I am showing, except for getting your ankle sprained on the scree or meeting the shepherds' dogs along the way. I definitely plan to return, it is about 1.5 days of driving from where I live and a complete haven of tranquility, even during the top holiday season. Thanks for your kind words and the like.

The best light is just when the sun rises, they say. The problem, in summer at our latitude, is that this is very early, last Sunday it was 0515 and I was up!

A few from the M/50 'lux from yesterday evening, and some more observations:
    1. Live View decimates the battery. I was only out a few hours and needed the spare. Things may improve once i've cycled through the charge/discharge process a few more times
    2. I've shot here numerous times with the M9. Out of camera DNGs from the M are way ahead at this time of day. Colours were spot on and needed far less work, low noise, all good!
    3. Camera seems to hold the highlights really well
    4. I need to do some work on hyperfocal distances

    Anyway, here's a selection:

Here are a couple of handheld shots with the M, with the humble Leica R 35-70 f4. It's a compact lens, balances nicely on the M and has a great macro mode. It isn't even very expensive. Designed by Leica, but made by Kyocera (who made most of the Japanese Contax lenses too).

    re: Fun w/Digital M Images

summer school is out... regular school is still two weeks away, so I've taking the rest of the week off to try to give my son some summer memories, also a chance to test my newly acquired 35'Lux in Disneyland. Since it was just the two of us, I didn't get a lot of chance to take photos :-/

Watch photography seems to be popular, so I grabbed this shot of Sim's (much loved) watch (19 jewels no less). It was taken with the M, and the 35-70 f4 R lens in macro mode (hand held)

    Hi Jono,
I like the "signature" (or character) of the 75 Cron lens of the new M240. Do you think that Cron 2.0/28 will behave similarly on this camera?

Hi There - yes indeed - the 28 'cron is also a winner. As is the terrifyingly expensive 50 APO (I only borrowed one and now it's gone home )
