OTOH, I will miss the sublime shutter and the long battery life.
I know the more I see of your work I will kick myself, but I've been in the Leica game for a long time now and I have realized what I like.
    Hi John

Interesting observation about the bw conversions. I convert quite a bit to bw, and have been thinking about the M246.... But to be honest (perhaps because of no previous film experience) I can't really tell if my bw is any good, or if the 246 would give me any more than the 240.

Last night I was playing around with M240 conversions, comparing LR and Silver Efex. I know people rave about the latter but I couldn't really see what it was giving me that I couldn't get in LR.

I do know I couldn't live without colour. So for me its now about waiting to see what Leica deliver later this year. Maybe i'll take the M11 (?) and switch the 240 for a 246.

Nice that we have these choices

    All the best

    Hi Bart

Yes I spend more time now in the woods, its a quiet escape for me from my working life, and I enjoy trying to find compositions amongst the woodland chaos!
But I still get to Bath:

Last weekend, camped overnight at Little Finland - about 3 hours from Las Vegas. The last 11+ miles on a wash next to a canyon. With recent rains, Mud Wash Road was more sandy than our previous visit. Only saw one other photographer who arrived after sunset to shoot the stars. We got there 5:30, a few hours before sunset. The first 4 photos M-P 240 with Zeiss 15 2.8 and last 2 with M240 35 Lux.

Folks, thanks a lot for the ' likes '

I don't collect cameras. My wife and I travel. A lot. Friends, ask us; ' which place is the tops; in your opinion? Which place you recommend we visit ?

Difficult, but we can single out a few places, easily.

Personally, the following images are from a place and city that ranks in the top three; in our ranking. It would be extremely difficult for me not to rank it #1. For its people, its vibes, its culture, history,
    landscape, adventure, and the festivals.

    Scotland. Edinburgh. Unsurpassed.

    And, of course, its castles..

    Re: Fun w/Digital M Images

I took a walk to have breakfast a few blocks away this morning. I put the Color Skopar 28mm f/3.5 on the M-D to see how it would do...

    All: Leica M-D typ 262 + Voigtländer Color-Skopar 28mm f/3.5

Although it turned a few good photos, the CS28/3.5 is probably one of the worst performers I have on digital sensors. All of these took a good bit of massaging to make them look right ... color shifting, vignetting, etc all get in the way. Oh well, film lens only, for me, in the future. Or black and white work only...

    Vieri,

How did you dispose of the inevitable crowd edging into your frame? Well done!

    (Beautiful photo, too!)

    Hey Matt,

Thank you for your comment, glad you enjoyed the pic About the crowd, last February, arriving about 1.5h before sunrise I found a good spot without much crowd - the only problem was with a busload of Chinese tourists, they arrived slightly before actual sunrise (as I said, I was there freezing my a.. off for about 1.5h already!) and while they were all very respectful and paid attention not to disturb other people's framing, there was this one guy, two very large [email protected] cameras on his neck (one with a WA zoom one with a 70-200) that started crawling - sniper-like! - slowly towards the edge of the Mesa, stopping and starting moving again every few minutes (not to take pictures, just... because, I guess!) until he popped into my frame since he had nowhere to crawl further, he finally started taking pictures, so I let him take a few and then asked him politely to please crawl a few inches back so he could get out of my frame, which he promptly did. It was a sort of surreal and funny scene, but no harm done I guess I was lucky!

Went back to the Philippines to celebrate the 10 year death anniversary of my dad. Took a side trip courtesy of some high school classmates for a mini 45th reunion at a private resort in the island of Boracay. M-P, Tri-elmar.
