    re: Fun w/Digital M Images

Ayesha and I are sitting together as I post this. We remember.

Wannabe climbers have to remember that bravery on the mountain slopes is

good in story books and movies. It does not happen that way. She had

taken all the necessary training, she had all the gear, she was climbing high,

sleeping low, she had her altitude medication with her. And then..

We remembered the rush to Kathmundu. The wait for the plane to S'pore for

urgent medical attention. She had forgotten one important lesson.

Her physical limitations. Chronic renal failure was one result.

Rushing from mountain peaks while managing a life threatening condition

is the stuff nightmares are made of.

We see this image..that is where she was headed..

See that crevice on your lower left. Looks simple, no? That took its toll on

me. And I hardly walk up the stairs, nowadays.

    The Annapurna range.

Thanks for the story rayyan. The Annapurna circuit is also an incredible trek which is amazing.

I'll bet she said yes! (Being married to a woman cut from the same cloth.) But I think the flowers seem like a good idea.

Thanks Gary. It is a lovely trek if one knows one's limits and stays

within them. Limits of physical endurance, that is.

The glacial ice on which one walks is sharp. Human flesh is like butter if one

    sustains a hard fall.

Our friends ( a Gurkha and his wife ) and me carry Ayesha down over the

moraine and compressed ice. Rocks would be better; so we think.

    Lovely Ray
. . and Brian - great first shot.

Here's a quick snap from yesterday's walk . . .but sometimes quiet simplicity does it for me

    M9 - 75 cron

These lovely Oaks are sleeping for the winter, but come the beginning of May they'll be bursting out again.

But of course my good friend..mojoharaat ( spelling!! )

    And thank you Lloyd.

Generally a market ( souk ) for selling precious metals and ornaments for jewelry and the like is generally called souk al dahab ( the 'l' is silent ).
Even though all types of jewels and precious stones are also sold there.

BTW diamonds are called ' almas '.

I usually take Ayesha to the souk al dahab. But she forces me to stop on the way at small shops like Cartier, Tiffany's and the like.

I like the gold souk much better.
