Thank you Ryan, Steve, Dan, Ashwin and Matt.
It was really fun to see the Seattle group.

Cindy: Nice to have you posting here. War correspndent-like. Are they re-enacting a particular battle? Well captured with the gun smoke(?). Beautiful cars. :salute:

Cheers, Matt

Matt, The battle was "somewhere in Missouri, 1861". I enjoyed your library.
Ashwin, The zen garden shot is beautiful.
BrianS, Nice photo with the very capable Elmar.

Cindy: Thanks! The shots in the library were a self-indulgent exploration of ISO capability. Probably didn't need to post them. I'm extremely impressed with performance at ISO 3200.

Matt, I'm interested in the capability of the 5N since I have the NEX7 on order.;)
Cindy: I'm very pleased with the capabilities of the 5N. I have Nex 7's on order at two different places (we'll see who gets them first?). I've got the new Sony EVF, also, and it's pretty incredible. Based on what I've read, the NEX 5N and 7 are sort of 'apples and oranges. The 5N is supposed to have better low light capability (but how much do you need?); 5N's smaller, but requires the EVF to make it more RF-like; different sensors; etc. I'll keep shooting with it and posting here and in the Sony forum (if it's not an m lens). So far, my only complaint is the location of the 'movie record' button - I keep turning it on. One nice thing about the 5N (besides it's $) is that it's available now. Everything that you get for it (adapters, lenses, etc.) will be useable on the 7. The real judgment will be if I keep it after I've had the 7 for a while.

Cheers, Matt

A couple more with the 5N and Leica Nocti combination. Odd proportions, but, pretty easy to handle. Thanks for looking.

1. Sony NEX 5N; Leica Noctilux 50mm f/.95; 1/80s @ f/.95; ISO 1600

2. Sony NEX 5N; Leica Noctilux 50mm f/.95; 1/80s @ f/.95; ISO 800

A few with the 5N + 50/2. Pretty happy with this combo. Not quite the Pentax 645D, but certainly a higher keep-rate. I prefer these in raw over 5d2 because of that horrible banding in the shadows. Roughly on par with 1d4, especially at higher ISOs.

Not sure why people don't like the ergo/handling of this camera. In MF it feels about as faster as anything I've used for the types of shooting I do. Granted, I am often down low on the ground and I'm always shooting handheld.

Nebster: Great images. I like the color, patterns, and texture in these compositions. You have a good eye for design.

I'm more then OK with the "ergo/handling" of the 5N. I've got the Sony 1/2 case and it makes it feel a little more "secure" in my hand (especially with a Nocti on it!). MF works exceptionally well!

What is it... about 7% the cost of Pentax 645D?

Thanks Matt. Much appreciated. I absolutely love the 35mm Summilux on the G3 -- but having said that I also am on the wait list for a Summilux 25 -- and my new thought is a Nex-7 w/M adapter as a backup for the M9. But I still like the traditional M rangefinder best. I still have a hard time with the EVF and composing on a screen is for me not fun.

Alan: Wait until you try the EVF on the Nex 7. The EVF on the Nex 5N is incredible! Thanks for posting.

I maintain and contend that the Ricoh GXR is no slouch, despite is 1 MP EVF....Truth be told, I adore the images coming from this lens/sensor combo. All shots here with either the 135 APO-Telyt (eff 200 mm) and the Zeiss Sonnar 50 mm f/1.5 (eff 75 mm)

UW's starting QB - Keith Price (outstanding QB, by the way)
1)

3)

UW's backup QB: Nick Montana (Joe's son)

Swarming Defense, lead by Cort Dennison:

Great shots. A reason to get a 135mm.
