Any news about the S2?

I posted what I heard on the Leica forum but nobody seems to have noticed.
I heard bigger than 24x36 sensor, 39 Mpix, 15kEur with 1 lens, R lenses possible but with cropping...

The 15kEur is the first time I hear a price. That's a good price, compared with Hasselblad and Sinar. Though I've heard prices of lenses in the 10k Eur range alone. But it's really hard to tell what type of camera it will be.

Thanks for posting the info... can I ask where you heard this. From the S2 diagram it appears like quite a variety of lenses can be fit. Do you know if the R lenses would work with full function, ie. auto aperture stop down? What all would one get for the 15k euro price tag?

Thanks for your reply. I've heard lots of different stories but nothing about a S2 type camera. I suspected the agreement with Jenoptic/Sinar was for help with the imaging firmware/software not to provide a camera. Just a few more days and we'll know I guess.

As you say, let's just wait for a few days and we'll see if we can afford it and what it does.
