This facade of a very old barn has just had a massive makeover. The white wall has no contrast unfortunately as the new plastering is dead smooth. Hand held, middle of the night fwiw.

Re: Fun with the Leica M Monochrom

I've been in Italy for the past three weeks or so. I took two bodies (M and MM) and five lenses. I used the Monochrom and the 50 mm Summicron Asph., that I was lucky enough to take delivery of just before we left, almost 100% of the lime. I usually shoot wide so I did a lot of stitching. I shot at f2.0 a lot. This is an amazing combination. I'll be posting images here over the next few weeks. We started off trekking for a week in the Dolomites.

    Three frames stitched:

Re: Fun with the Leica M Monochrom

I kept a medium orange filter - a B+W 040 - on the lens 100 % of the time. This gave me just enough flexibility to shoot at f2.0 or f2.8 in daylight when I felt it was appropriate.

Re: Fun with the Leica M Monochrom

I cycled (road bike) in the Dolomites many years ago and have found memories what a wonderful place it was. The MM was just a twinkle in the eyes of its inventor as was the M, M9, M8 etc. etc. No matter which camera one uses, each would capture a unique and lovely interpretation of this spectacular area. Looks like the MM with orange filter and new 50mm cron asph was an ideal combination.

Re: Fun with the Leica M Monochrom

    Hi There,

Some of you on the Forum know my wife practiced for a Figure competition. She is 49 years old, and thought this competition would be a milestone met for her.

Some of you helped me a lot getting ready to take some Monochrome shots (some shown here) and some Sony A99 color and video (thank you Cindy for your help).

My wife, EJ, prepared for 19 weeks with strict diet and exercise. While she has been fit with cross fit and Pilates, she did transform her body over those 19 weeks. That said, after the last few days of first carb depletion, and then water depletion, she was absolutely spent the morning of the competition, as shown by the first photo.

Her transformation competition day, from being totally spent to being "on stage", with her coach bringing her up to that high point, actually brought me to a pride for her I have never felt before.

Oh, and yes, they do glue the girl to the bikini.

Here is my wife, EJ's, journey through the day (Leica MM and 75/2):
