MM + Luxochron. Luxochrom = 50mm Summichron Asph. Note how well it holds contrast in heavy backlighting - the sun is 10 degrees or so out of the frame here. The stuff on the web about this lens having a flair problem is crap - it actually performs marvelously in back lit situations.

MM + Luxochron. "Luxochron" btw is my name for my 50mm Summichron Asph. More heavy backlighting.

MM + Luxochron. I'm shooting almost exclusively with this combination now. Makes a very compact travel kit. Medium orange filter lets me shoot wide open in daylight. Most shots at f 2.0 (this one is actually f 8.0, my other most used f-stop). I stitch when I want wide.

Woody, it's not crap. There are a bunch of lenses out there that have coatings that aren't in spec due to a production issue. Granted, a minority - but they do exist. The lenses that are in spec... No, of course they don't have a flare problem.

Something slightly abstract for a change. Passing through this access tunnel to train platforms but also to our Port and small park on Lac de Neuchatel.

Re: Fun with the Leica M Monochrom

We had a smallish circus on the lake front, and I was hoping for a photo opportunity. It turned out there were only half a dozen visitors so they cancelled the show. I felt bad for the staff as they had to take down the tent, so quite a lot of work. In spite of their bad luck, the Clown was still ok to pose for a shot, he even managed a smile.

wuffstuff: gorgeous image of the colt in pasture, wow. PRINT NOW.

michael: interesting reversal of typical DOF ordering in that traincar shot, really works well

woody: one day when i grow up and get smart i'll be able to stitch as well as you do. umm, then again, probably not

vivek: the Hague street pics are strong, esp facial expressions

element-m: the bearded man shot is superb. so is the "ray-ban" cool guy, but the bearded man would go on my wall.
