Woody, it's not crap. There are a bunch of lenses out there that have coatings that aren't in spec due to a production issue. Granted, a minority - but they do exist. The lenses that are in spec... No, of course they don't have a flare problem.MM + Luxochron. Luxochrom = 50mm Summichron Asph. Note how well it holds contrast in heavy backlighting - the sun is 10 degrees or so out of the frame here. The stuff on the web about this lens having a flair problem is crap - it actually performs marvelously in back lit situations...
