And another day in Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, with the equally fabulous Leica M Monochrom and 50mm Summicron-M with orange filter (this is a one-lens weekend). As always, minimal post.

In all my years of city life, I never would have imagined that scenes like this would EVER be within 2 blocks of my house.

Leica M Monochrom with 35mm f/2.5 Summarit-M and orange filter. ISO 320, 1/250th sec at f/2.5. Minimal post.

It's a nice feeling to get back to be able to read this thread again - I consider it as a blessing.

At the risk of sounding OT, I'll just provide a link of my experience/ordeal I have undergone the last 7 days:
Typhoon Yolanda - Haiyan in Tacloban City
This is almost incomprehensible Dave. Just relieved to know you survived. Many organizations here and around the world are trying to bring help and supplies. I hope and pray you all get the help you need, and soon.

Thought I'd try another comparison, but this time to something at least supposedly in the same weight class. M Monochrom with Jupiter 3 vs Canon EOS 6D with Canon EF 24-120 f/4 L (the only Canon lens I have). To make things fair, I shot both cameras at base ISO (ISO 320 for the M Monochrom and ISO 100 for the EOS 6D, set both lenses to f/4, and other than conversion to RAW in Adobe Lightroom 5, NO POST. I then took the 6D image and imported it into Silver Efex for mono conversion. Again to be fair, since I had a yellow filter on the Jupiter 3 I applied a yellow filter to the converted image back in Lightroom. So, here they are. I put the original Canon color image last.

M Monochrom with Jupiter 3, yellow filter, ISO 320, f/4

And for the hell of it, the original image from the Canon EOS 6D with 24-120, ISO 100, f/4
