Amazing work here, Helen. They make me think of the city images in Fritz Lang's Metropolis, strange, dark, void of human life.
John / Thank You
that was a Very cool site
and I LOVED those City Scapes /Metropolis
I'm a Big Fan of Fritz Lang /One of the Founding Fathers of Classic Noir

I'm quite Pleased you liked the Flatiron Building Simon, its a Beauty...:)

Lloyd, I onlt wish the Mist & Foh could have been More Dramatic in that shot.

Coool..Thank You Dale :)

All the Best- H

"M" is on my all time best films list. I've often wondered what "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" would have been like if Lang (first choice for director) had not be involved with directing "Spiders" at the time.

If one has not seen "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari", I recommend it for the visual impact of the B&W sets.

Love Ya Doll....Do I have to come down to Kentucky and get YOU off your tush.....

Actually Cam I AGREE
and tell you a Secret

I think the SA shines even brighter on the Rd 1 & M8
If YOU look at FLICKR:
Tommy Oshima's (RD1s)
K_iwi's (M8)
the SA ROCKS ...Truly more Exaggerated & Sublime Vignetting & Charm
with Film its a bit more Subdued still tres LOVELY though
The SA & Digital its More Atmospheric

BTW another FAV person I like on Flickr is Junku-newcleus
Outstanding contrasty B&W Film Cooooolness

Today I'm Out and About with my Old 35 1958 Summaron
we'll see  how this does with Film....

Best To All xoxoxoxo

That bus shot is terrific, Helen. You're making me want to rush out and buy a wide-angle lens (and I'm still paying off the 28mm).

The 21 SA is legendary. One of those must have lenses for B&W film. Love your shots Helen. I sold mine when I needed the cash two years ago and have regretted it since. Good thing I know of a mint in the box one that wont go anywhere for when I have cash for it in the future :D As Guy says it wont meter correctly on meter bodies, but everyone should have a digisix/flash in their pocket anyway :)

Here is one I took two years ago:

Quite Moody , LOVE it Erik /ERIK FVE

The only Difficulty I have with the SA21 is People Shots
I can't seem to get in 'Close Enough' ....the way Bruce Gilden gets those Fab Character style shots of people

Thanx Amin, Simon, Neil & Wouter :D

messed up abit on this neg and the officer was getting annoyed at me for not moving fast enough amidst the Fire & Smoke..... so i fumbled with a wrong F stop

you can, Helen -- it's easy! as long as you use a flash.... seriously, that's the key. without one, forget it. i didn't want to admit it, but that's truly the key. quite fun as well, though it kind of limits who you'll feel comfy taking shots of :p

I'm becoming a flash convert myself... sometimes ya gotta go with it.

BTW, I LOVE these two images. Wow!! I love the backlight in the second one particularly. Great work.:salute:
