dumb leica question

for a lot of you this is a no brainer,

the question the leica M cameras and the bessa cameras that take leica M mount, is that the 39mm mount? or something else?

I'm just an upgraded dummy, but I think "39mm mount" refers to the screw thread mount, the later bayonet mount usually being called an "M mount."

thanks just seeing if the fotodiox adapters would work with the current leica M mount...as you can tell don't know anything bout this...

You don't need an adapter for an M mount. You need an adapter for the Leica Thread Mount (LTM). With that you can use LTM lenses on M bodies. And that doesn't just include Leica lenses, Zeiss, Canon rangefinders use the LTM mount and several Former Soviet Union cameras use it. More on them....
