MFDB tethered to IPhone?

And it supports FW400 (one port), so you will get power for tethering. This is an interesting package, and could be fit with a bigger drive and more RAM to really beef it up. However, at the price, the MacBook Pro is not looking to be ruled out either, and may be able to do a lot more, plus have a nice hood fitted for outdoor use. Nice to have some options.

I actually look at this machine http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/548361-REG/Apple_Z0FK_065C_Customized_13_MacBook_Notebook.html

I think it provides a good compromise of performance and price.

Do I need anything more to work tethered with Sinar 54M ???
You can save another $115 by going with the following:

Amazon has this which has the same specs as the BH system except 2gb ram instead of 4gb of ram but is the black color case for $1398 after rebate.

http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MacBook...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1213314989&sr=8-2

And then you can buy 2 of these to get 4gb ram for $42.99 * 2:

Total price is $1484 - you also have the option of holding out on the RAM to see if the 2gb it comes with is enough for what you are doing and possibly save there as well.

yes, I realize this, was not meant for outdoor, just an idea for limited budgets, starts at less than Euro 400.-

Thierry, I think this is not portable mac for outdoors shooting.

If you watch the WWDC video on Apple's website there are many new apps being developed for the iPhone. This one could be a pretty trivial application but will someone make it is the question. Apple demos the process of creating an app (overview) in the video.

Even if someone wrote the software, I can't imagine that the performance on the iPhone would be nearly good enough to handle such large raw files and generate previews.

Greg, looks great, thank you, but it seems that Apple web side doesn't recognize addresses outside the USA and I cannot continue from registration to checkout.:ROTFL:
You have to go to the apple store for the country you reside in. Once you get there, you will see they do not have the same refurb offers as the USA store.
