    Mt Beacon, Hong Kong
Upper part of the picture is Hong Kong Island.
    Halfway down is Kowloon peninsular.

As you can see in the photo, we don't see a lot of greens in Hong Kong, skyscrapers and skyscrapers, beauty or beast?

    Cheers everyone.....

First drink on our new terrace! If you are a golfer you might like the view Championship course Las Brisas that has hosted Spanish Open twice!

In all honesty we will not be able to move in until September (complete refurbishment) but picnics on the terrace will be frequent LOL.

Just to let you know I'm alive and will be more active soon......

    Thank you David!!

I have not had so few exposures in years thanks to the move, but I am missing it and will start to 'disappear' now and then to hunt light....

    Re: Technical Camera Images

    Hi,
Since there has been some talk about Fat Pixels and older lenses I thought I would post a couple of my tests as I try and learn about using my first MF digital back, Ixpress 96C
The B&W's were made using an Arcbody with a helical that I modified and a Holga lens.
The one colorful shot was with the same rig except a 150mm Nikon LF lens.
I've got a lot to learn for sure.
    regards,
    Robert

It was nice to have some fog instead of the steady rain we've been having here.
Cambo/SK 35XL/IQ140 Hand held at something stupid like 1/15. The OM-D was much sharper, but not nearly as atmospheric - to say nothing of the geometry.

A bit of everything for weather at Newbury Harbor (New Hampshire) a few days ago. Mid 80 degrees (F), humid, foggy... and then a five minute squall complete with hail... mostly overcast, and then this finale. Hasselblad ArcBody, IQ-160, 45mm Rodenstock Apo-Grandagon.

Started to re-capture oldies when I pass by locations from the past. This one was shot with Alpa Max, SK35 & Credo 60, but three years ago I made almost the same image with a Leica M9 and 24 Elmar.

Been away for awhile and while I've stopped by to visit those visits were way too short to accomplish anything. Finished a 15-day trip that lasted 3,800 miles beginning that brought us through Santa Fe/Taos NM then north to Devils Tower WY before heading back to Jackson Hole and eventually Tucson. I've had a lot of work to complete before heading out again and that's my main excuse for the delay in sharing here.

Boths images were captured using a Cambo WRS/IQ160 with a Rodi HR40 t/s

Thanks Jack. We were walking back from dinner and saw the cloud/smoke which reminded us of a nuclear "mushroom cloud" (we were in Mew Mexico after all). By the time we got to our room, got the gear and had it set up it dissipated to what you see. It would have been faster/easier shooting it with the DF but if I wanted faster/easier I wouldn't be doing half of what I do now

The Pecos fire shot is super-cool. And that WRS/rodi 40/160 combo is just the bees knees for a "one size fits all" setup right? I use mine for everything from landscape to architecture and it's never let me down.

Your quest for perfection has been fulfilled here as far as I can tell. This is a fantastic and beautiful shot. But, if you insist, please toil away and show us more from this location as you work toward your goal.

OK, I noticed that the props are getting bigger. I'm now looking forward to the Grand Piano on the beach shot! In Keydachrome of course.

Opinions? I'm always wary of talking about someone else's baby ... You know why you shot it this particular way so who are we to second guess? But since you ask:

Personally I prefer the B&W image although I find the top left corner distracting due to treatment that makes it look like a light leak (I know it's not but it looks like it). Also, maybe too much piano and not enough scenery? Unlike your bench series and also the previous piano images, the piano has transitioned from being an accent or focal point anchoring in the scene to now being the dominant subject. For me at least, it needs more negative space.

I do like the series approach.. Keep 'me coming.

Thanks Graham. I've noticed some of the same issues. I'll be working on it.
This is part of a 7 piano installation along the San Mateo, CA coastline:
Not a Mirage: Pianos Sit in the Mist All Along the San Mateo Coast | KQED News Fix
    Gone after tonight.

As for the piano becoming more of the focal point, there was really no place to go! It was just behind a roadside dune with a cliff in front of it. No way to stand behind, in front or to the right. So not a lot of venue to work!

Thanks for your input. It's REALLY valuable to me and much appreciated,
    Bob
