thanks for the info, i may try a 50 apo-rodagon if i can pick one up cheap, the 60 is o.k. but it sounds like the 50 might be better.I find the lens perform quite well, the resolution is more than enough for modern digital camera.
The Image circle for the 50mm is not that big. I can maybe get 10mm of shift in 1 direction on a Sony A7R2, that's about it.
The image circle for the Rodagon 80mm is quite good and it's just as sharp as the 50mm.

a recent editorial watch feature, all 120mm apo digitar, cambo actus. sony A7r
100% crop on the watch crown. all shot at f11 and then focus stacked and only a bit of very low output sharpening, slightly odd composition on the leather to allow for title and copy.
