4 x 5 Adapter for Use with Mamiya ZD Back (Prototype)

2008/09/16

Mamiya Digital Imaging is proud to launch this year at Photokina 2008 an adapter for the Mamiya ZD Back and 4 x 5 inch format cameras.

# Features
The 4 x 5 adapter has been developed to allow attachment and use between any 4 x 5 inch format camera and our 22 megapixel digital back, the Mamiya ZD Back.
The adapter consists of a ground glass and digital back attachment area which allows smooth and simple sliding during photography. The Waist Level Finder FW402 for RZ is placed over the ground glass. It is essential for preventing unwanted light entering the ground glass, and enables magnified focusing.

Compatible camera bodies: 4x5 inch format cameras which accept a 4x5 sheet film holder

(cameras where the sliding mechanism would be blocked by a supporting brace or arm cannot be used)

Compatible digital backs: Mamiya ZD Back
Parts and functions: power switch、sync terminal, warning lamp, pre-release shutter cable
Dimensions: 256mm (W) x 134mm (H) x 42.4mm (D)
Weight: 1,000g

Date of first sales: To be announced
Price: To be announced

This product, if it comes to market quickly (unlike the actual Mamiya ZD back which took forever, after announcement ), would be the thing that actually convinced me to keep my ZD back rather than ditching it and moving to a different system altogther. It would mean that Mamiya is actually producing accessories for it, which is a huge relief...

Now, anyone what to take a guess as to price? Over/under?
