Today, in Yosemite, as I was venturing into the Merced for a more interesting composition, a leg of my tripod bumped a rock, and my Aptus-II 12 popped right off and fell into the water. Really. I am not joking when I say it was fully submerged.
I felt so appallingly stupid.
I dried it out by setting it on a heater blowing on "high" for about eight hours, cleaned the sensor and glass thoroughly, and, thank god, it seems to be working fine. Fortunately, the Merced is fresh water. To say that this was one of the worst days of my life, however, would not be an understatement.
