LLoyd, Guy, Jack - Thanks and much appreciated. Frankly, I was very much inspired by all the Yosemite workshop images (and feeling rather left out) so I had to get out and do something!

    Nice shots there!

I like the first shot, but the last shot i was looking to see it to be greener and natural colors maybe, not that warm yellow tone

in order to avoid un-necessary duplication of images, i vote the "Quote +" button be discontinued.

after all, how many times do we want to see Guy's work reproduced on the same page?

    Peter,
It's exciting to see a fresh and unique capture of Antelope Canyon. The nodules in the sandstone and the footprints in the sand put this one over the top, imho. Beautiful.

Oops, you were commenting on pictures, not footprints I guess. Either way, Guy, it works in reply to either. What fun!

One from Nova Scotia earlier this month. 80mm LS, used negative clarity to preserve the mistiness.

    Re: Fun with MF images

Whole lot of really really cool shots.

Its interesting how many people think that one of main reasons to switch to MF is to have more DOF control, but right here - plenty of shots with fairly narrow f-stops, to get in more details and yet - there is so much 3D-ness that its just blows mind straight out.

Yes both Jack and I shot similar shots and we are both banding a little. We tend to lean towards the blue being out of gamut on this specific color. We will try when both get home on our big wide gamut monitors

28mm Lens will diffract slightly at F16 . F13 is better but sometimes it comes down to a coin toss DOF or not. The one above is f18.

I'm not seeing it in print so that is where it really counts

Gotta do a trip with you one of these days - so far your workshops have been at bad times for me but hope springs eternal!

    Re: Fun with MF images

I have to process my Aspen shots. I might have a few good ones coming.

Bill and others just want to say if Jack and I get folks out there to shoot more and enjoy photography more than we certainly succeeded on the impact of this forum on what this place is really about. There is nothing better in my life than to see others get out and have fun with this craft that has occupied almost my whole life.

Interesting treatment Bob... I like it. I might have cropped a bit off the bottom and made it more of a pano look but that's a matter of personal taste.

Guy & Bob - folks.. this is just.. *takes a deep breath* awesome..

Valentin - some lightness compensation/adjustments were done to help up with scene (lighting group with 2 wee heads is a bit trickish task), but thats it.

Guy, those aspens are fantastic - the third blows me away, tho' on my laptop I can't get the foreground and the sky to show at the same time, pic is too tall, and I actually think its better w/out the sky. (This is a photographic technique called "cropping by small screen size"!)

    Lovely lovely shot.

England's great outdoors are not as great as the the ones in the US, size wise, but we do get some nice autumn days occasionally...

Exmouth coastal path, South Devon, yesterday; Looking at Exmouth and the mouth of the Exe river:

Posting it in the fun section since it's kinda fun being able to count seagulls on the sand from over 3Km away....

My travelogue has reached the Grand Canyon now...

As usual, larger pics at my blog...the panos beg to be seen larger, and I have them 1080pixels high in the blog on clicking on the smaller photographs. Printed, should look quite spectacular...haven't tried yet. What do you guys think?

Great shot...tho' I do find the light rock at the bottom right corner a bit distracting.

But I bet it will look good as a BIG print!
