This is freakishly popular spot to shoot seniors and bridals in Las Colinas, TX.
They unfortunately repainted front of it - where we see its almost white - used to be texture like everything else about year ago.

I'm using the Adorama Flashpoint 27" grid with my EL. I have to attach it with really large binder clips but it holds and works. Keep the kidney for the IQ, sell off a couple of toes or something for the custom grid.

hmmm.. toes - i need them. You cant really walk well without them
But you right - i have not thought about clipping other grids to them. Oh well. Too late for me for now. But thanks for idea - i might use it in future.

Raining today, so I shot from under a freeway overpass near the University Lakes here at LSU. Some abstracts... darkish. All handheld.

    Aptus II 6 - 210 f/4 ULD

And a badly underexposed high-iso image (iso 200 ), pushed a few stops. Noisy, but still has a little of that "certain something": Might work in b/w (or might just be a learning experience!)

    Cheers!

    Nice!

I'm seeing this as a b&w using the new presets in C1v6.

Image has an interesting feel to it. Great color, light and composition. I'm wishing the tilt was corrected though.

    Re: Fun with MF images

Revisiting test shots I made in the backyard a month ago after receiving an old Mamiya 35mm lens from eBay US. AFD/Aptus 22.

Green on green gets pretty dreary in a hurry, so I started making monochrome conversions in C1, which I am finding terrific for this purpose (still on v5.2 and using two presets/styles: B&W Panchromatic for a darker look, B&W Yellow Filter for more of a glow, particularly with foliage). All shot wide open. I haven’t corrected for the considerable barrel distortion as it helps the central area of the frame “push out” towards the viewer. Field curvature makes for some interesting effects too.

Lots of vignetting and messing with Clarity to smooth backgrounds!

I can title this one: “Grape Vine”.

Grenadines Sky. H4d 60 + HCD28. 1 second shutter to blur the water movement. The things that looks like hickeys are a bird and it's reflection - I may edit it out is this moves toward being final

Another Grenadines sky. H4d-60 + HCD 28. The color artifacts are from the circular polarizer that I've used on most of the images in this series

    Re: Fun with MF images

More Grenadines skies. Honk if you're getting tired of these. Given the extreme wide angle (equivalent to 12mm or so in 35mm speak) this took a little work in PS to make the perspective look natural. For me this and the couple with the rainbow are the money shots out of this series.

    H4d 60 + HCD28. Three frames stitched.

One more sky. H4d-60 + HCD 28. Three frames stitched. From the same spot as the similar photo above. I converted these to 1/4 size tiffs for stitching because my laptop to gagging on the full-sized 1 gig plus files.

Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Warm first light on red rock was pretty stunning to experience. Pikes Peak is in the background shrouded by clouds. Amazing to see such a cool place right on the edge of town.

This one is quite old but I bumped into it today while searching for something else...

British Columbia, June 2006, Aptus 75 on AFDII and Mamiya 35mm

Somewhere in that field there's an 80mm/f2.8 that fell out of my pocket...

    Great color with perfect processing.

By the way; where exactly is this field? One can always use an extra 80mm.

Thanks Ed, C1 6.1 can do a really good job in pulling the most out of an old file!!!

The story says there were two big grizzly bears sitting there when we came back to look for the lens...they were so scary that we've forgotten where it was:-)

Going through some early Aptus-II 12 images, I find this one fun because a) I can get to a look I like quickly and easily in C1 and b) I can see seagulls on the beach some 3 kilometres away:-)
