Had a shoot on Saturday where the client wanted something classic and classy... I suggested a film noir look (which I love) and we went with that!

H4D-40 80mm iso 400 f3.4 1/125s Litt with Arri T1, 650 and 300 tungsten fresnel spots.. note the baby arri she is leaning on is switched OFF!

    Re: Fun with MF images

This is stretching the definition of photos being applicable to this site. Not shot on my 645D, but it does use the Pentax 645 600mm f5.6 A lens. Camera used was D800E with an adaptor.

Even using the 1.4x converter, quite a lot of cropping is still involved... Methinks a telescope is the ideal solution.

    Re: Fun with MF images

All lovely shots Ed but if I had to pick out a favorite, it would be the very first shot. The foreground and detail is accentuated with all sorts of lovely textures and the contrasty lighting is both inviting, but a bit mysterious...maybe other worldly and in some ways goes along with your moonshot. .

I've found that many of the Pentax 645 lenses do quite nicely on a Nikon DLSR with adapter and had tried the 600mm on Nikon Df with excellent results. I asssume the 1.4x you used was the Pentax 645 one?

(as an aside Ed, I just sent you an e-mail).

    Tom,

I like your image. Nice composition and mood. Wondering if it was a severely under exposed image that you resuscitated. I'm seeing that dreaded center fold issue - right side a bit more magenta.

    Hi Rick:

I think I see what you're referring to, it's visible at the horizon in the center of the image. The image was underexposed; however, I think it's a jpeg conversion artifact since it's not present in the DNG. There is a lot of magenta blotchiness in the jpeg as well (both my jpeg conversion and the camera's) that is also absent in the RAW file or processed TIFF.
