Here's another Silver Efex Pro 2 fan. I had the pre Google version but recently upgraded and really love the new tools.. As Pramote I almost exclusively use Silver Efex Pro 2 for my B&W conversions.

    North Platte River, Wyoming.
The Oregon Trail ran right through here, I was pretty much standing on it when shooting this image.

It broke a record for the earliest snowfall. We got about 4" of wet, heavy snow. Down East had over a foot--the sunset above at Sand Beach in Acadia was taken the previous weekend (it probably looks different now). The biggest problem for me is that our apple tree still have their foliage and I needed to clear the snow from them in the middle of this blizzard to prevent damage. Winter is coming a little too fast.

But snow is like Karma, you are not going to escape it.

Black and white landscapes are starting to grow on me, forcing me to look at texture and light. They're also alot more fun to process, almost makes you want to go back to a darkroom.......almost

Great shot, Bill. I might pull the sky down a bit and add a bit of a vignette, but strong frame.

I remember buying the Mamiya 120mm macro lens from Dave Gallagher a couple years ago as I needed a macro lens at the time. Little did I know how much I'd use it for non-macro work such as this image. Phase One DF/IQ160, Mamiya 120mm f/6.3 1/160 ISO 50. Great lens for landscape work....

Another version of Hoel Pond in the Adirondacks. The Adirondacks are honeycombed by connected (mostly natural) waterways; this is a small pond, but it is possible to travel many miles on water from this point. A few carries (portage) might be required.

I can be a psychic I've known you'd recognize and comment about it. Remember we personally met, the very beginning of our friendship!

My DF temporary died shortly after taking this picture from humidity and rain.

I mildly adjusted the contrast etc. and mildly cropped the old picture to make it stronger (especially the left lower corner). To me, I think it makes a big difference to the picture with only a subtle change.

    Thanks,

And isn't that the amazing thing about photography--or the human visual system. You can take, for all intents and purposes, two identical photographs of the same place, but one shines and the other doesn't just because of some small difference.

One other thought. When I have been changing lenses in humid condition with my 645D, I periodically put the camera without a lens and the card and battery doors open in an air-tight bag with desiccant for a day or two to suck out moisture. I have not had my camera die, but I have seen moisture appear on the inside of the screen displays with the camera under the sun. Weather sealing keeps the moisture out, but it also keeps it in.

A few from yesterday, all with a 645D and 35mm or 80-160mm or 150-300mm. Eighteen Mile Creek is a undeveloped county park popular with fisherman and hunters. The creek is in a deep canyon and has heavy growth of old sycamores, oaks, hemlocks and maple. This is late fall, but striking colors still remain, soon to be replaced with the monotones of winter.
