Re: Fun with MF images

A statue depicting the chap credited (it seems erroneously) with introducing surfing to Australia (a place with which it is now closely associated):

    Pentax 645Z plus 55mm lens.

Unfinished business - I want the trails to suggest a crashing wave. Clouds rolled in, bringing the shoot to an end; but I will return!

If you are interested in the story of the chap depicted, see here: http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/100-years-...09-12l3i8.html

About a mile from my house. I should probably re-title this. Twilight implies a little something left (light or years as in ones twilight years). I don't think there's any life left in this one. Car make and year unknown.

Nice; I believe it is a 1950 Ford. Someone may rebuild it yet.

I stumbled across an old train museum place yesterday, stuck out of the way were some really old carriages and stuff, got to love the decay!

    Re: Fun with MF images

Peak action landscape photography. Pentax 645D, 645-A 120mm, f/16, and ISO 400 for Peak Action.

Water wasn't frozen, and ice chunks were sloshing back and forth. Shot taken at apex of slosh. This was the only one of several that didn't have excessive blur.

Correction: I had originally stated that I chose f/16 so as not to have to focus stack. My memory is a bit murky these days. F/16 was the compromise needed to maintain focus. I didn't think f/11 would do it. Focus stacking would not have worked well with this one because of the movement of the water. Sorry about original misstatement.

I don't know. The product description say ND will blur the motion of a waterfall, but I put 10-stops on ND on this sucker and it is still sharp!

My first "Real World" MFD image

    Hi,

This is sort of my first "Real World" MFD image. I got my stuff a couple of days before and I was shooting some testing type images. This time I made a short walk to a place I love to shoot.

I saw this boat coming so I started to set up the tripod while I was still walking, than just teared up my backpack, put lens on camera and camera on tripod and pressed the cable release. I thought I missed the image, but to my surprise I found I got it and it was pretty good!

    Taken here: 58°38'50" N 17°6'34" E

    Best regards

    Re: Fun with MF images

    Hi,

Perhaps not the greatest of images. Anyways, taken on saturday here in Nyköping at our historical castle well known for the Nyköping Banquet.

I have been fortunate to have the two ducks swimming into the picture, but both had disturbing motion unsharpness. I put both ducks on layers and sharpened in Topaz in Focus after which I selected the ducks on both sharpened layer and added a layer mask. After that I flattened the image.

    Taken here: 58°44'51" N 17°0'42" E

Technical data: Hasselblad 555/ELD with P45+, Distagon 50/4 at f/13 (?) and 1/60. Polariser may have been used.

    Best regards
    Erik

I really enjoy the blur of the background and clarity of the road; for me it says "road trip", something many of us have too little time for.
