Great Anzo images, there is nothing like spring in the desert. Especially in an El Nino year.

Also bought Jacks 200mm Apo 2.8 manual focus and that was clearly a mistake on his part. This is a awesome lens but it is stop down operation. Thanks bud just what the doctor ordered. Pre dawn shot

Just for fun, here is a trio of images I captured last night with a homemade pinhole lens for my Phase. The approximate focal to the lenscap is about 75mm and the effective aperture is about f180. These exposures ranged from around 6 seconds to 25 seconds --- and the Phase body can meter them even though you cannot see anything in the viewfinder!:

    Re: Fun with MF images

I think i need to go out more to shoot with MF, even we don't have some interesting nature or outdoors locations as these, but i will try to be more creative or inspiring to post something here, i will worry later about upgrading my MF, but really all my time now is wasted to read about film as i really want to shoot film with what i have, digital i got enough of it so far.

I like this look guy. The color contrast is incredible. Congrats on the 200mm MF lens, now that I have switched to the 75-150 I could probably use one of those guys.

    Thanks Ed!

I bought a set of laser-drilled stainless-steel pinhole apertures off eBay for $25. I then drilled a 1/2" hole in the center of a body cap, cut a small hole in a piece of gaffer tape, stuck the pinhole on the gaffer and then taped it to the inside of the body cap. The focal from that is about 75mm, and since the desired aperture is around f180, you need an aperture hole diameter of about .016" (.417mm) -- that small is hard to make accurately without special tools and why I bought the laser set...

    Cheers,

Just picked my wife up from the airport first time I seen her since I left and just showed her some of these images and the rest on the Salton Sea thread. Her jaw is on the floor, which knowing my wife a very critical eye on photography means we nailed it folks. Kudo's to the workshop attendees.

    I'm testing the H3D2 50. I'm very impressed, I must say.

Here is a good example of the soft and natural color from Phocus (with 100 % crop at right)

Shot with the 80 mm, iso 50 f11

    It was snowing ...

Here's a change from the Salton Sea - Georgian Bay, Ontario, where spring is already springing and the snow melting - somewhat earlier than usual. Because I was away in HI with the a900, the DF/65+ had been unused for nearly five weeks. This is exposure number 588 and I'm still using the original set of AA cells!

    Don,

Of all your images I have seen the past 3 years, this is my favorite (twisted used to be). I'm trying to figure out why but can't put my finger on it.

Simply a wonderful image with incredible light.
