Norges Fotografforbund (NFF) (professional association) Møre og Romsdal recently had their yearly meeting and competition :) A great mix of socialising, debate and proff workshops, and of course the competition :)

The standard is high and the judges your peers... judged anonymously of course...

You have to get 70/100 points or more to even get in the reckoning

over 70 points: Honorable mention
over 80 points: Bronze
over 90 points: Silver
over 95 points: Gold

Max 4 pics sent in
I got one silver (91 points) and the years best picture award for the shot below and got two "honorable mentions" both with 76 points for pics I have posted here before , the girl standing on her horse and the one of the yoga pics
The fourth pic didnt make the 70 point cut, but even so my total point score from the three that did was enough to put me in second place in the "Photographer of the year" award :) Not a bad result I think . Here is the winner pic :)

Thanks people! :)
This time of year we finally get low suns at "normal" hours of day... In the summer it sails high above the fjord and sets behind the mountains on the NNW...at 11pm! in a month the sun will set much earlier and soon after that will set behind the mountains in the SW at 2pm ish making shots like this impossible... Then we have the "lovely" westerly climate cutting down days where you can actually see the sun lol...

Lighting was simple... Profoto white beauty dish and the sun , white balance sett to cloudy. Hardest part (apart from getting the waether I wanted) was getting the clients son to relax... but we got there I think :)

Hunan Province of China

IQ180, Cambo AE, HR40, ISO 35, 1/30, 10mm rise

Very nice indeed! Nice to see something a little different to the lone tree/peak/mountain/mist.

This region is #2 on my bucket list. Antarctica is #1 and that's happening in 2014. Hunan is next. Machu Pichu after that.

How were the crowds btw? I hear stories ...
