How to adapt the Canon 17mm TS-E to the Pentax 645Z?

Can anyone point out how please? Someone just passed this image to me, and we have no idea about the source of it. Even if it requires destroying the Canon 17mm TS-E lens and losing the shift capability, it is still a huge bargain compared against the ALPA 12 FPS + IQ250/IQ150/Credo50 solution, because when Sony releases the 50MP 135 CMOS sensor next year, these IQ250/IQ150/Credo50 will depreciate at least 50%, which is a significantly greater loss when compared against losing a Canon 17mm TS-E lens.

Something doesn't look right with that image; moreover, as you state your lens would be purely a tilt objective, give that the shift mechanism of the 17mm TS-E has been "removed".

...if the photo is to be believed.

In looking at the 17mm, the rear element is located around the midpoint of the shift knob, which would place it pretty far inside the body of this Pentax. What' the mirror going to do?

Do you think that the picture is photoshop'ed? If the lens barrel of the rear group is removed, and also the mirror of the 645Z is removed, would it be possible to work?

I don't mind destroying a 645Z and a 17mm TS-E because the total price of these two is even less than the depreciation of an IQ250/IQ150/Credo50 over the next year.

Of course the minor difference being that regardless of the amount of depreciation, you have a perfectly working IQ250/150/Credo50 versus a destroyed 645Z and 17mm TS-E lens.

Imho, it's better to not worry about "depreciation" and destroying cameras----and simply invest in what works for your needs now. The flip-side of the coin is the return on your investment from making the right initial investment (that includes "photographic enjoyment" btw) far exceeds any depreciation.

What doesn't look right about the image is that someone with a 645z and a canon 17tse can't manage to take a sharp photograph of their supposed handiwork in mating a 17tse to a pentax

Conversely, one could wait for the cmos backs to crash in price as you claim them to, then get an hcam and use the 17TS without all the surgery.

The point is to try to save money by not having to purchase the IQ250/IQ150/Credo50 and bear the depreciation of $10,000 over the next year.
If you worry about price have a look at the CFV-50c, $9-$10k if you care to take a trip to Japan.

There is liveview coming in the next firmware update. It won't be as good as Phase One, but hopefully usable for what it's supposed to do. Eagerly waiting for the first user reports.
