Leica S with Pentax adapter inquiry

when using a pentax 67 lens on the S does one have to manually stop down the lens after focusing?

Yes, you'll have to stop down. Pentax cameras & lenses have a mechanical lever that engages the aperture, so a potential auto adapter would have to have a servo built in to drive it, but as far as I know all 67->S adapters are plain chunks of metal/plastic.
