this Mamiya 1.9 seems very nice

I was quite surprised.

There is a lot of lore around the Contax Zeiss 80/2, and indeed as you saw in the previous part of this article that is a dandy of a lens. But the Mamiya gets little love in the cult-following arena and its price is nearly free in comparison.

Especially for someone with a DF+ or XF that mostly shoots professionally and therefore would only consider a lens like this for "bonus shots" (e.g. to shoot some unique images after getting "security shots" on a modern AF/LS lens) or for side projects (e.g. fine art shot on their own time), the Mamiya 80/1.9 is a small/light/inexpensive option to throw in the bag.
