XF menu question

In customizing my XF body I have run across a menu item called "One time A/E" which is part of the autoexposure selection. I've no idea what this one time feature is, can anybody answer this for me. Thanks!

I it allows you to set a custom button that will switch the camera to auto exposure for a single shot. Doug talks about it on his front page article.
