I placed an order on the 4116 edition of the X1D as soon came up at Adorama and in their website it says that the camera will ship from Sweden on October 25th
On B&H Photo it appears shipping on December 1st!!
I have checked several interviews with Hasselblad rep. done at Photokina and they all say shipping in October
Phocus 3.1 was just released and the user manual came up last week
Does any of you got any further info?
It drives me crazy not to know anything:mad:
Thanks and cheers

Late November early December is the most recent official position. Will believe it when it happens...

A dealer in NYC told me that he expects the first units to be be shipping by the end of this month, and they will be silver units. There are apparently a number of units already built and they are just awaiting the final firmware. I think we already knew that.

Hi,

When I bought my Sony A7rII, I have been trough something similar. It was announced early June and I got mine mid September. There were many conflicting reports on delivery schedules and certain markets were served before others. I have missed a lot of shooting opportunities, that's life. You probably can live with firmware updates, but you probably don't want a camera that needs to be sent in for service because a hardware upgrade.

Leica users needed to wait around a year for the Leica S (typ 007). When companies develop new technologies there will always be some issues discovered late in the process and there will be production bottlenecks and things like that.

It is just a fact of life, Things Take Time.

I also feel that Hasselblad made an announcement a bit early. That is a mixed thing, good to know that the X1D is coming, but it is a long wait.

My guess is that AF and heat management may have issues that take a bit more time to resolve than expected.

Best regards
Erik

This from the Hasselblad Regional Sales Manager for the US Mid-Atlantic/Southeast region:

That's the official company line at the moment. Stay tuned.

I just got this email after inquiring my order at Adorama

"Hi Ettore,

Thank you for your inquiry into the status of your pre-order.

This is a brand new model and it is in high demand. Currently, the manufacturer will start shipping this item on 10/25/2016. They determine when we get each batch and how many we receive per batch. Orders are fulfilled in the order we received them, on a first come first serve basis. We cannot share line placement nor can we estimate what batch your order may be fulfilled in.

We appreciate your patience and loyalty.

If you have any further questions, or require additional assistance please reply to this e-mail.

Thanks for Shopping with Adorama.

TRIXIE? Now theres a first name I haven't heard since the old Honeymooners TV series of the 50's and 60's
Gotta believe Trixie :).

This waiting for newly released cameras reminds me of the game "Where's Waldo?"

I know, it isn't much fun. From what I recall this all started big time whem the Nikon announced the very original D1 DSLR. It didn't show up for months and waiting lists were long. Not all that long ago it seemed manufacturers after being criticized, made an effort to anounce a new camera only at a time close to shipping out first batch. It appeared to work for a while but things have reverted baxk. Guess rhe pressure to announce asap and obtain preorders is now the name of the game, unfortunately. I do understand about wait lists for hot items but not announcements months in advance before the product even shows up in the hends of users.

I wonder if Adorama is just trying to drive pre-orders to it web site by listing a (fictitious) release date that is earlier than everyone else. All of the other dealers and Hasselblad's own employees are all saying late November.

A very perspicacious guess IMHO

I thought any big word greater than having 12 letters is prohibited from use according to the by laws of Getdpi...LOL!

Anyhow doesn't this idea come under the heading of conspiricy theory? :)

What is Hasselblad saying at the Pro Photo Expo in NYC?

At PhotoPlus Expo today Hasselblad rep was saying end of November for customer shipments. I have one on pre-order. It looks and handles great in person, although it definitely needs more work - the first unit I handled kept shutting down and giving me a lens error message, and the second one worked but was very warm and seemed a bit slow in operation. The rep said there have been frequent firmware updates, so hopefully they will straighten things out before it ships. I'd rather wait for one that works in all respects than get one that is frustratingly incomplete.
