i went to wppi for a day specifically to look at these two camera.
the x1d is very sleek, elegant and feels very nice in the hand, focusing was ok. extremely portable feels wonderful.
the gfx extremely well built but bulky and heavy when compared to x1d. its also cheaper.
my conclusion; these are completely different cameras for different purposes. the x1d is the new "leica q". the fuji is a modern medium format camera with lots of options.
also looked at the phase one xf, very well integrated body and back, but did not feel good in my hand, the hassi H even though is an old design (body) feels much better and more balanced.
saving money...
