Nikon D3s fun

Hi Everyone,

I saw the D3S thread and thought I'd drop in and say hello from Colorado. Here's one from the other day. My son and I were returning from a great hiking trip to Arches NP where we spent more time sleeping in and having grand slam breakfasts at the Moab Denny's than out on the trail for sunrise. Hence the photos from the trip weren't that great. That wasn't the objective of this trip, though. The objective was to spend some one-on-one time with my 12-year old as he begins the journey into manhood and I loved it.

Still, I found myself pining for the golden hours somewhat. Proud of myself for showing remarkable restraint all weekend, we were about 20 miles from home and I saw this thunderhead building over my shoulder to the SE. A few attempts at framing failed to show the size of this thing... it just wasn't as impressive when you could see it all in the viewfinder. So I pushed in a bit more to 200 and there it was.

Absolutely love everything about the D3S. Without question the best digital I've shot. It's the first one that's made me think twice about my beloved F6, which I still shoot quite a bit of film with.

Just wanted to say hello.
