We are at the end of our trip to Stockholm...the Arctic and the people we might
share some other time.

Let's take two posts to give our lasting impressions of Stockholm...

Our flight leaves for Frankfurt after sunset. So what better way to close this journey with how we started this story...with the light.

Thank you for having been with us.

Best regards.

I saw this young lady when I was walking back to my car after lunch. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Matt.

Taking photos from a moving vessel is an interesting challenge. You calculate the number of seconds to the best perspective, and just when you are there, the boat rolls or jumps. And there's spray and vibrations and stuff everywhere. Still, it's great fun. I'll be doing more of this :)

D80 with 80-200 AF-S @ 200mm and f/3.2

Of all sharp items in the world, the Nikkor 80-200 AF-S must be among the top three, only surpassed by someone's mother-in-law's tongue and an ancient Japanese Harakiri knife.

D80 with 80-200 AF-S @ 200mm and f/3.2

Certainly is Tough keeping a steady hand out there but you do it with the precision of a Surgeon Jorgen! Well Done!!!

Rayyan, your colours and textures are special, and these photos from Stockholm show it better than most. Now I wonder if I have to go to Stockholm to find colours like that. Even if I can't find them there, it would be a good excuse to go, don't you think?

Some flowers on the way back from the Wallingford Kiddies Parade (yearly event in my neighborhood). Thanks for looking. Cheers, Matt

Due to the appearance of some unusually clear thoughts this morning, I've decided to do most future images postings under the "Images to share" forum, where I've started a thread called "Asian images". This is not because I don't like it here (rather the opposite actually), but I'm lazy, and by this arrangement, it doesn't matter what camera I use. The photos will all be in the same thread, and my dysfunctional brain can free up some bits for other uses, like remembering what I'm going to have for dinner and where :)

This rather saddens me. One less enjoyment in my senior years...

Five, or six, weeks of Seafair started today in Seattle (sometimes it seems longer!). That means little and big parades, neighborhood festivals, hydro races, Blue Angels flying overhead (if they can afford the avgas?), pirates, clowns, commodores, princesses (no princes?), a King and Queen, and the fleet's in town (a few ships anyway).

Today was the Wallingford Kiddies Parade. The route is a few blocks from our house. Behind me, as i sit at the computer, there is a box with some photos of myself, my sister and my brother riding our bikes in the parade. We were decked out as King Neptune, a mermaid, and a seahorse with yards, and yards of colored crepe paper (highly flammable; couldn't do it today). My brother got first prize in his category.

Anyway, here's a few photos from the parade. thanks for looking. Cheers, Matt.

Rayyan: I love the detail and texture in this first one and the shot over the hedge of mothers/nannies relaxing in the second one. So sad to leave beautiful Sweden. Cheers, Matt

having you share Seattle with us.:salute:

Jorgen: Thank you sir. You don't really need an excuse to visit Sweden!;)
