Rayyan: Such a noble look and feel, great composition and concentration
Hermann: Thank you.

Now I need some of that!!
Lloyd: Welcome pal. Sugar?

Rayyan, Beautiful Contrast,Composition & Reflection!
Steve: Much appreciated.

Rayyan: Very graphic and elegant. The strong contrast and the black background makes the objects 'pop'. The reflective metal handle provides a sense of depth that isn't provided by the background. Interesting.

Vlad: Superb set of photos!!! The set you posted on FM is equally outstanding. I like the way you picked up the character of the parade with individual "portraits" and cadence and rhythm with sets of legs, instruments, etc. Very evocative. This one got to me. Thanks for sharing.

Big +1 from me Vlad. Saw the whole set over on FM. Excellent work.

What fantasticness!!!

Got a lot of catching up to do!

Here's a quick one from my shoot the other day.

Love this shot Jason. (The "Mo" is coming along as well)

Horse with Nik HDR Efex Pro. Cheers, Matt

Excellent conversion Matt. Wouldn't have guessed HDR if you hadn't said so.

Since I waste the little money I have on useless, outdated equipment, and won't be able to buy the hyperfantastic new models that can take photos of the inside of my brain, with the lens cap on, until they are on fire sale after having been replaced at least twice, I found that it made sense to go for a stroll with my rather ancient D80. It still works :)

D80 with Tamron 17-50 @ 17mm, f/2.8, 1/40s and ISO800

D80 with Tamron 17-50 @ 31mm, f/2.8, 1/15s and ISO800

Thanks Matt and all others.

This shot in particular is my favorite as well. The gentleman was a Vietnam Vet and stood by the parade, smoking away. Often times other vets from the parade walked over, shook his hand. Very often others waved to him and said "Welcome Home". Powerful stuff.

I noticed him early on, about two hours later the light was lighting him from the back and I waited for the moment when he took a big puff on his cigarette and the shot was in the bag - or on the card, rather. :salute:

Matt: Horsey capture, if I ever saw one. Beautiful tie-in with the surrounds.
Lovely colors.
How's the Nik HDR working for you? meaning to try it.
And why might I ask, do you need the M8?:D
Take care.
Rayyan: Thank you, my friend :D I think the software's worth it. There's quite a bit that you can do beyond the "HDR" style. The M8? I've been looking at my old M8 photos and liking them. I'm also interested in the "crop" factor. And, it's so pretty in chrome! And...I'm an idiot!

Matt: Revealing example for the pros and contras of the new SW, thank you for sharing! I suppose, it's a single exposure HDR, isn't it? I saw Lloyd's example on the Leica-Picture-Thread as well and am still not convinced whether it's my cup of tea. But why not give it a try ...
Hermann: It is a single picture processed. The two B & W's that i posted on the Leica thread last night were run through the SW. I think there's some subtle processing that you can do with it. Give it a try.

Breakfast...

Rayyan: Nice view though the skylight! Abstract as Lloyd said.

...Excellent conversion Matt. Wouldn't have guessed HDR if you hadn't said so.
Lloyd: Thanks. :D Lot's of interesting potential in that software.

Jorgen: "It's not the tools, it's the carpenter" Must have that saying in Denmark and Thailand. I like both of these. The colors in the bike and the corrugated metal wall are really wonderful.
