Hello everyone....I'm new to the board. I will tell you up front I am amateur with a serious case of N.A.S (Nikon Acquisition Syndrome). However, I realize there is more to photography than the equipment, which is why I have enjoyed reading through the various threads and soaking up as much information as possible. I am smart enough to realize that I have a lot to learn, and in the near future I will be taking some basic photography classes and working hard to increase my knowledge.

Nonetheless, here a few shots I took during a recent trip to the San Francisco Zoo:

First use of a 3rd party DNG profile for the D800. I think I am at a good start:

I love shooting colour. I can't wait for the day that colour reproduction, gamut and general management issues are a solved problem. Looked at these on 2 different (both calibrated) screens and the rendering is...interesting, not to mention what happens when they go into non colour aware browsers.

Love the 24 PC-E's close focus, (it can get to 1:3, and there's tilt to manage depth of field a little more effectively)

    Both with the 105 VR.

Great shots Guy. I love the 200 F2. It is one of my favorite lenses, and with your pictures you have opened my eyes into different ways to use the lens.

Thanks for meeting yesterday, and showing me the truck graveyard. I ended up spending about 2 hours there. I will post some pics when I get back. My preliminary look at my other pics from Antelope, Monument and Grand Canyon is that I may have some great images there too. I will post soon.

Bryan glad I drove up to see you have a little lunch shoot a few images and spend some time together . It was fun and I certainly enjoyed your company. That graveyard you could spend a week in it. Looking forward to seeing what you got.

Actually upsizing will so much improve that 1000x600 pixel images can be printed at 60" wide :-)
