Life is full of variations. Directly from village celebration upcountry to Swedish jets down south. Looking forward to a couple of nights in my own bed for a change :)

D300 with Nikkor 300mm f/4 AF @ f/4.0

Jorgen: Nice angle. I've had numerous Saabs (last one was a 9000 Turbo in 92 or 93). The brochures always had the jets in the front, as if the cars evolved from the jets. I wonder if they stopped when GM owned them? Their very elegantly stylish jet fighters are being bought by a lot of country's these days. Generally places we don't send billions to. Go figure?

Cheers, Matt.

Still go for this one Matt!!...
Rayyan: Thank you, my friend! Me too. :D

I went to photograph buildings!!
Rayyan: Beautiful texture and color.

One of Mimi's friends... our Portuguese neighbor. I adore this woman, but I couldn't be married to her for 30 seconds!!

D3s, 28-70/2.8
Rayyan/Lloyd: What are the odds that these two great photos would be posted one after the other...8 minutes apart? The subject begets the photo style. :salute:

Cheers, Matt

Another really great portrait, Rayyan. Lots of life in that face. I really love the B/W processing on this one.
Rayyan: +1!

Color version of the earlier post.
One more of her:
Lloyd: Really excellent portraits! I have to ask...why does your neighbor need these glamorous photos? BTW: I like the first B & W one; and, is there any significance to the background in the last one?

Cheers, Matt

Simple and yet appealing.
Nice one, Matt :)
Same goes for the passing tram (?) in B&W -with the extra original approach.
...
I'll defer to the specialist (Matt) appreciation here: framing and blending are both excellent indeed.
Lens look pretty ok btw. What was the FL here?
Any PC after the fact?...
Corlan: Thanks! Mostly working, but the ships are right out the office door. It's a bus. No trams in this neighborhood. Right now, my "specialty" is inexpensive apartments. :D

Cheers, Matt

The first Saab, the 92001, was indeed inspired by airplane design, since the company was started in 1937 specifically to manufacture fighter planes for the Swedish air force to preserve Sweden's neutrality.

Now, they are two different companies, and although none of them are hugely successful, the fighter jets have, as you mention, sold to several countries for a number of good reasons. I had the pleasure of working closely with representatives of the Swedish Air Force while taking these photos, and they have a very professional attitude to this project.

Here's the 92001 (not my photo):

Here here are two of the latest model, the two seat family version :)

A lot of humanity in these portraits, Rayyan.
( and in some way, the statement also goes for your "siesta hour" shot ;) )

Great, as usual.
Rayyan: Ditto. Siesta time it is! Crowds like that make me nervous. The OOF foreground intensifies it.

Cheers, Matt.

Thanks Matt. I shot these for her website. She is an "Image Consultant", working mainly with female executives on wardrobe, etc. I have to say that the purple dress is the worst thing I've ever seen her wear... she really does have amazing fashion sense (not that I have any idea what fashion is ). She also apparently has quite the clothing budget, as there seems to be limit to the variety of her wardrobe.

She wanted an urban residential feel to these shots, which is the only significance to the location.

Very interesting. I had heard that the airplane design came first, but not from a very credible source.

And yes, that's the one I want... the "family version".
