Jurgen: Your work really is Magic. I love the shots of Chicago and the shots of the mosque in particular.

Rayyan: Yet another wonderful portrait, my friend. Your gift of connecting with people really comes through in shots like this.

Frankie: Another beauty. Thanks for sharing.

    Tak Jorgen og Steen

i went outside Berlin to Buckow today with Bernhard (alba63) and walked around the forest there. Here is one photo with the [email protected] from a tree-filled field next to the forest:

    Re: Fun with D800 Photos

Photographed today a car show with 3 cameras. D800, 5D Mark III and RX100. Looking at the D800 shots the main plus was dynamic range for me. D800 was shot with the 60mm macro, 5D3 with a 50mm macro.

You can find all photos from all cameras here. Just check image details.

Pramote - very nice tonality as Uwe mentioned. Btw, I noticed in the EXIF that you were shooting LO-1 ISO (ISO 80). Was this by choice? Just curious ...

just a false constraint on creativity

(i've also been known to shoot petzval glass from 1850 with a Betterlight scanning back )

    .. and thanks!

.. although.. if you take the same shot thru a 12Mp camera... you're still getting more 'information' from the 36Mp capture (or 25 in the case of a 1:1 crop)

Sounds like fun but will have to leave the wife at home - she puts up with my photography as it is but if I tell her she has to get up at that hour, I fear all my gear may end up at the landfill...

Stopped by the elephant seal hangout near San Simeon - the seals are molting right now - you can see the old skin flaking off.

These two males were going at it and there were several pairs fighting almost constantly - you can see scars on all the adult males that are laying in the sand around these two.

You can also see a sub-adult in the foreground - they don't form the "elephant" nose until they are older.

I just picked up a used DB for my Contax 645 so between that and the D800E my poor M9 has been gathering dust

Are you on vacation this week or just like getting up at 4:30am to shoot before work

Let me know when you want to go out shooting next - I should be around for the most part.
