    Eleanor,
I would recommend the Zeiss Zf.2 21mm, it's almost a perfect FL for landscapes, and not much bigger then the 18mm. For me, the 14-24 is not even considered because of the lack of filter thread.

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

Poking around with the 85/1.8... nothing wrong with the rendition on this lens. Even f/2 is about as big as I'd ever conceivably want to go on a lens this focal length.

    f/8 is far more reasonable...

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

Thanks for your input Johnny...I already have the excellent Nikon 24 1.4 prime which I could take but I'm on a roll for super wide right now and find that when I am using my 14-24 I always want to go wider....only thing on this current trip that has kept me, at times, out of the 14 range and in the 18-24mm range is the need to get my shadow out of the image!! eleanor

Beautiful images Eleanor! I am on the road, just starting a 6 week photo / camping outing and am viewing on my MacBook Pro, but the subtle colors and detail you are getting from your 14-24 are inspiring. I will be using mine a lot on this outing.

Thanks Ben, I used this lens almost exclusively on this trip...much of the subject matter demanded ultra wide viewpoints! Look forward to seeing what you get with your 14-24! Eleanor

Just to clarify...I have nothing to do with the camel or that guy.. - I only pressed the shutter...

The camel-shots were taken near a camel race-track and the camels are being brought there twice a day for exercising.

Like in other parts of the world where you have horse- or dog racing, you can bet on a camel.
The owner of a good camel can easily become a millionaire, which might explain that smile...

Thank you for explaining, Jurgen! And the Camel almost look as happy as its owner, but in a more modest, reserved and dignified manner (so we don't have to think that annimals don't think!, I think)

These photo's are great, but perhaps it's more useful to size them as smaller JPG's, so a viewer can just click on the image for a full view. That way, when someone comments on a photograph, the whole page does replicate again... Great photo's...

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

Thanks Promote...it was a black and white conversion in Silver Efex Pro. Oh, and I realized I forgot to answer your question about if I'm using my P65+. I purposely left it in houston for the summer because I wanted to use this time to get to know the D800e and concentrate on getting the best prints possible. It's the only camera I've used since the first part of the summer. When I go back to Houston this weekend I plan to begin doing comparisons with the two cameras and get a better idea what camera works best in various situations. I also want to compare my D800e files....smoothness, color, etc. to the 65+ files of the same subject, and see how close I can get with the 800e to the quality i get with my Phase back. So I'll be doing lots of experimenting for the time being. Eleanor

Thanks so much for your kind words Antonio. I really enjoyed using my 14-24 lens to get super wide near to far perspectives. Eleanor

    Lightroom for D600 - YES!

LR came out with an update with RAW processing for the D600. I took my camera to the final Nats game today and shot this with the D600 and a 200MM F4 AIS from the stands. Lighting was thin cloudy bright. That's Jason Werth hitting a triple.

I saw this sculpture in a gallery in Santa Fe. If you bought it you can indicate your mood with your mate by how you position the face. D700, 60 Micro
