    Thanks Lloyd!

I've been on the road for a month so far with the truck, trailer, wife and hound. Finally getting to try out the D800 with some of my lenses. A few more weeks of fun, then it is back home for Thanksgiving.

It'll be what it'll be I guess - I'm visiting Zion, Bryce, Escalante and Capital Reef with maybe a shot out to DV so the worst case it'll be a fun road trip and scouting for next time.

Cindy, Cenek, thanks to you both. Sadly, the 200/2 was a loaner. I had the first version, but sold it, and have often since regretted that choice.

An old image from 2010. It´s from Öresund, on this side you are standing in Sweden and if you go over Öresund you will end up in Denmark. It´s highly trafficked by ship.

Your pictures are fantastic. I have the Nikon 200mm f/2 VRI and love it. It has a character and different from other lenses even 70-200 or 300mm.
To me, it is the best Nikon lens.

Beautiful image, Guy. Was it focus stacked, or did the short focal length provide the wonderful front to back sharpness?

To many challenges lately and not enough time to take photos. Here's one from yesterday though, from the dress rehearsal for the Royal Barge Procession next week, an event not to be missed.

No focus stack but I did stop down more than normal f14 but still holding well. Damn lens is amazing for 400 bucks. Reminds me if the Voightlander 12mm for the M8 at the time only better.

Have to be honest C1 7 is pulling detail I have not seen on my E .

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

Took the D800E and 85/1.8G to the Day of the Dead event here in SF today. I love this lens! The in-camera flash is excellent as well - these were all shot at -1EV using the camera flash. I strongly debated whether to bring the SB-700 with a grid attachment for a softer fill. It would have been a slight improvement, but I'm not sure if it would really be worth the hassle. Since I was intending to shoot all B&W I had no need to gel the flash either, which is impractical with the builtin.
